25.01.2022 After wrapping up Year 12 just over a week ago, our Class of 2020 are back on site for holiday revision in the Learning Hub. Thank you to all the staff who have made themselves available this week for our students. Not long now... #LearningHub #CovenantChristianSchool

25.01.2022 In celebration of NAIDOC (National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee) Week, our Junior School students have been learning more about Aboriginal culture through stories, art, music and sport. Today our effervescent and inspiring Junior School Teacher Librarian, Mrs Robyn Watson, shared her experiences with the Yarrabah community in Northern Queensland with Year 6. As a school, we have the privilege of having a close connection with the Yarrabah community, and ...are particularly passionate about teaching our students about Aboriginal people. Every year since 2006, students from Year 10 and Year 11 have travelled to Yarrabah to share the gospel with the Yarrabah community through a Kid’s Games Program. This has been a wonderful blessing for both the people of Yarrabah and our students. As an extension of this close connection with the community, a group of Sydney women travel to Yarrabah once a year to fellowship with a group of Indigenous women. Over many years we have formed special bonds with our Yarrabah sisters. See more

23.01.2022 Another day of discovery! Through exploring, creating, designing, socialising, our talented Prep students are learning to think creatively, work in community and understand the world which God has created. #CoviePrep #CovenantChristianSchool

20.01.2022 Giving thanks to God to be able to sponsor Carols in the Park, Frenchs Forest. 950 people booked but still more room. So not too late! Starts 6.30pm tonight!

18.01.2022 Well, in an unexpected turn of events the Covie Staff have managed to take out the 2020 Sausage Cup against the fiercely competitive Year 12’s! It was neck and neck until the end, but the Staff claimed the victory in a very tense soccer penalty shoot-out. The Sausage Cup is an annual battle between the Staff and the Year 12 students, with the losers traditionally cooking a BBQ for the winners. Whilst the events lineup and prize needed to be modified due to COVID-19, the bragging rights are just the same! #StaffAreTheWinnersFor2020 #2020WeLoveYear12 #CovenantChristianSchool

17.01.2022 What a glorious day for a spot of beach walking (and jumping)! What a blessing for our Year 9 students to be able to take some time away from the classroom to enjoy this beautiful day. #AllCreationShoutsHisName #SchoolSport #CovenantChritianSchool

17.01.2022 Happy Father's Day to all the Dads in our Covie community. We thank God for you! Some of our gorgeous Prep students have made some special artwork to celebrate our Dads - how precious! ... We normally celebrate Father's Day with a big community Father's Day breakfast - complete with a bacon & egg roll and freshly brewed coffee. COVID-19 has certainly changed the way we celebrate these special events, but we want to take this opportunity to say: Dads of Covie - we love and value you! You are such a blessing to your families and we are thankful to God for you! "Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court." Psalm 127:3-5

15.01.2022 Year 9 Agricultural Science students enjoyed a sweet incursion from Barry's Bees. They were left buzzing after witnessing Barry split the hive, cap the wax and spin the honey in the centrifuge. Then it was time to do the same! Creating un-bee-lievably scrumptious honey #CovieHoney #CovenantChristianSchool

14.01.2022 Dear Year 12, congratulations! You’ve done it you’re finished! We want you to know that it has been an extraordinary privilege to be part of your educational journey, and to walk with you through what has been an extraordinarily difficult year. You have encountered unprecedented challenges in your final year of school, but we are so encouraged by the way you continue to trust in our faithful God and hold firmly to him. We are immensely proud of you all! It is our prayer tha...t you will leave this place with a deep understanding of the depth of God’s love for you; that you will know God has a purpose for you and that he is for you; and that he is kind and compassionate and will never leave you. With your final exams just around the corner, we pray you will know the Lord’s peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7) and that you will continue to work diligently as for the Lord (Colossians 3:17). We love you Year 12 2020 & we will miss you! #Covie2020 #CovenantChristianSchool See more

11.01.2022 ‘Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.’ 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 The Bible calls us to be thankful. Thankful in all circumstances. How can we remember to be thankful in difficult times and for things that we can take for granted? This term the Junior School Student Leadership Council (SLC) have been considering all the people who make Covenant a wonderful place to be and how we can thank them. They ...were surprised by some of the jobs that happen behind the scenes and the new jobs that COVID has created. The SLC took this information back to their classes, where classes ‘adopted’ a person or team to pray for and create a ‘Thank You’ card for. Students then presented cards to the wonderful people who serve God here at Covenant. We are thankful to God for them.

10.01.2022 Today, as we mark Remembrance Day, we gratefully remember the courage and sacrifice of all who've served our country. Thank you, Mrs Brown for praying, Mrs O'Sullivan for reading The Ode and Hugh for playing the Last Post. The Ode. "They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. ... At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them." See more

10.01.2022 Year 7 Science class investigate magnetic fields through experiments using paperclips and magnets. Who can make the longest paperclip chain? What materials can pass through a magnetic field and what materials block a magnetic field? How far does a magnetic field extend?

06.01.2022 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. John 15:13 #lestweforget2020

06.01.2022 The creative juices were flowing as our Year 9 Textiles students whipped up some wonderful creations to raise money to support missionary work overseas. From pencil cases to baked goods, this was one popular stall. We continue to pray that the money raised will ensure the word of God continues to be shared across the globe. #CovenantChristianSchool

06.01.2022 The 2020 Sausage Cup has begun! Who will win? The Staff or Year 12?? Two rounds completed so far, and the competition is anyones! Badminton, Softball, Just Dance and Soccer Penalty Shoot-out still to come. #Classof2020 #CovenantChristianSchool

05.01.2022 Earlier this year, a number of Covenant students had the great privilege (and fun!) of providing backing vocals for Colin Buchanan's new album, 'Old Testament Sing-a-Long'. He was "blown away" by their hard work, dedication, and contribution to his latest project. And my younger friends from Covenant Christian School came in and totally blew me away! In typical Colin-style, this album is a lot of fun and chock-full of biblical truths. ... Sometimes it sounds like a kids album for grown-ups, sometimes it’s like a grown-ups album for kids! - Colin Did we mention it has over 75 minutes of new material! And it’s released today!! 03.01.2022 Congratulations to our class of 2020, we are thankful to God for you. You have achieved some wonderful results that include outstanding personal achievements and also fantastic subject results. Thank you, staff and families, for your partnership in assisting our students to achieve so very well in the HSC during such a challenging year. Please continue to pray that these results may be seen as a reflection of their desire to glorify Him with their talent and that our students... might continue to serve our Lord as they venture into the world beyond Covenant. Congratulations - Daniel Read for an ATAR of 99.0, and with Jamilla Kwan, named in the All Rounders list for students achieving a Band 6 in 10 or more units. - Carlo Berzekian, first in the state for Armenian Continuers as an accelerated student (Carlo was in Year 11 at the time). - 32 students who together achieved 61 Band 6s in 23 different subjects. - 10 students nominated for exhibitions or performances including Express Yourself Exhibition (Visual Art), Encore HSC (Music), Art Express (Visual Art), Onstage (Drama) and Shape (Textiles and Design). #CovenantChristianSchool #CongratulationsClassOf2020

02.01.2022 Look out! Take cover! Nouns, verbs and adjectives were flying through the air in the Junior School computer room where a lexicon of budding authors have been busily planning, writing, editing, illustrating and publishing their entries for the Write A Book in A Day competition. Groups of ten students in Years 5 and 6 were selected to work together to complete stories in one day and were given specific parameters to use in their stories. From a millionaire and lecturer explorin...g a museum to uncover a hidden secret, to a queen and a garden gnome visiting a football game beside the Great Barrier Reef, the creativity and collaboration required to weave ten ideas into one final story has been an incredible feat. The competition raises money for The Kids Cancer Project, and to date, the teams have raised a combined $1500 for this worthy cause. Congratulations to the budding authors involved. We look forward to publishing your stories in the Junior Library very soon!

01.01.2022 The Year 6 refs were briefed ("bring a whistle") and the teams formed, as Miss Hammond readied herself for a tournament like no other... The Inaugural Eagle Cup Comp. Students from Years 4 to 6 were keen to get active after a year of cancelled sporting events and, over the past three weeks, have enjoyed some friendly competition during Friday sport and various lunchtimes. Thank you to our wonderful referees, touch judges, helpers and participants. And thank you to Miss Hammond for making fitness so much fun! #CovenantChristianSchool
