25.01.2022 Well folks, given the current madness going on in the world, the government effectively shutting down large gatherings for the next 6 months and the virtual collapse of the live music and events industry overnight, sadly, it looks like it's time to pull the pin. There seems little point in booking anything in the foreseeable future and even when we can bring acts here again, it can be a 6 month planning process! How long will this virus disaster last? Who knows, but I think... it will last longer than we can... To survive in the music industry in Tasmania is always a bit of a struggle anyway and I'm just not prepared to stress it out. Will we be back? Who knows? Even after this is all over, I believe it will be a long time before people have the confidence and the spare cash to head out to shows again in significant numbers. I'd personally like to thank all the awesome entertainers, venues (with the exception of one) and other industry professionals we have had the pleasure of working with over the last couple of years. But most of all, I'd like to thank all you awesome punters! We have met a lot of fantastic people and it's been great to see a lot of you coming back time and again to enjoy the music. It's not easy to give up on it but we don't have a lot of choice. What are we going to do now? Who the hell knows? There's zero government help available to entertainers and people in our industry so far. Musicians are losing thousands of dollars everyday in Tassie, so if you get the opportunity, please support a local musician. Buy their music, buy their merch, maybe even attend the smaller shows (less than 100 people) if you're brave enough. My heart goes out to all those victims of this disease, and I'd personally like to kick the arse of whoever started it! Stay safe Tassie music lovers, look out for each other, wash your hands and stop hogging all the toilet paper... Cheers, Daz and Leesa. See more
