23.01.2022 Do Tradies have a much better work life balance compared to an office worker?

22.01.2022 Tradies are angry, confused & wondering what long-term impact #COVID-19 is going to have on their business, the financial future of their families, their hopes and dreams. There is a lot of uncertainty right now, jobs are being cancelled, projects that were ready to go have been put on hold with no clear idea if and when they will go ahead again. No body knows... Stressed, Angry & Powerless - said one Tradie, a client & a good friend.... It’s totally normal to feel this way - all valid emotional states driven by our reptilian brain, that’s designed for the fight or flight response. Whilst solutions may not be clear, there’s a better way to respond. We can make a deliberate choice to work on things that we can control ourselves rather than feeling trapped by all the things outside of our control. Costs of your business are something that you can control, they present a great opportunity for any business, particularly given the downtime. Premium review for Public Liability Insurance, Motor Vehicle & Stock Insurance should be on top priority for any business right now. Some Insurers have already started to lower the price as they can see the business risk profile is changing fast. Not every insurer will do so though. Some would continue to push higher premiums, keep their margins up. They know that customers and brokers alike are complacent and probably not pay too much attention. Who wants to think about insurance anyway, it’s boring and dry. Not controlling your biz costs right now could be potentially devastating - something that must be avoided. You need to create conditions that help you navigate this storm and when you are on the other side, you will be a lot stronger. Remember, there will be a lot of natural attrition with businesses closing. Its like survival of the fittest right now and to be fit, you need to control your costs. Ask your broker on how they may be able to help? Ring them up and ask for lower premiums. If they don’t come to the party, give us a call. At CoverTradie we would love to save you money. We are also a small business like you and understand what you are going through.

19.01.2022 Avoid the most common mistake that 90% of Tradies make. Make sure you include the cost of signage in the insured value of your vehicle to be fully covered.

19.01.2022 CoverTradie may only be a young business but we have the pedigree to deliver the result. Looking forward to kicking some big goals in the years to come.

17.01.2022 ’ Picture this You’re a sheep and you’ve just been shorn. Bits of you are showing that should be private. You’re . You’re . You’re .... ! You see, while fluffy insurance doesn’t help anyone, fluff on a sheep is the total insurance package! No really it’s all she’s got! It’s her first and only line of defence against the cold, the rain, the wind and foxes with an appetite. So keep fluff on sheep where it belongs and away from your insurance. ’ ?

14.01.2022 Execution eats planning for breakfast everyday. I feel it personally as either I am executing or planning. 80/20 rule - planning is 20 . Same applies to starting a business. If you’ve got an idea, the only way to see if it works or not is by starting it and refine it later not over planning. . Do as a Tradie would do...Just do it.

13.01.2022 WorkCover may not be enough Insurance to protect tradies particularly those that play footy because sporting injuries are not work related. . .. 01.01.2022 People know that they need to have the right Public Liability Insurance for their trade business. A head contractor with sound risk management practices will not allocate a job to a sub-contractor without the right Public Liability Insurance, but what does it cover really? . Public Liability Insurance protects your business against claims made for property damage or injuries/death to other parties as a result of your business activities. . Example: A landscape gardener has bu...ilt a garden bed which results in the flow of rainwater towards the walls of the home resulting in damage to the plaster work on the inside. I homeowner can claim damages to their property and your insurance policy will respond to such a claim. . Ask your broker or send us a message if you’d like to learn more. . #covertradie #tradie #insurancebroker #builder #handyman #gardener #landscaper #electrician #carpenter #plumber #chippy #chippylife #plumbinglife #hvac #roofer #tiler #joinery #tradieladyclub #covertradie See more
