17.01.2022 Hi Im Jocelyn, the proud owner of Cove Spa. Im proud of my small business and Im proud of the supportive team behind me. I love everything about the Spa & Beauty industry and most importantly, I love creating a safe space for our guests to enjoy and come to feel good about themselves. I completely support and understand that the temporary closure to flatten the COVID-19 curve was necessary at the end of March and I have been both thrilled and relieved to see all the recent... zero cases. To date the govt have done a fantastic job and I appreciate the very difficult decisions theyve had to make. But today, I am disappointed in the announcement made that it could be another 5 weeks before we are allowed to re-open. The inconsistencies and lack of thought into how we as a reputable Day Spa operate is frustrating to say the least. How on earth is it fair to keep beauty closed while hairdressers, physiotherapists, chiropractors and even remedial masseuses are allowed to continue? Id like to make it clear that I fully support those businesses and I have continued to enjoy their services during this time with social distancing (I love my hairdresser) but I find it outrageously unfair that its ok for them and not for Cove and my fellow WA beauty industry colleagues. Cove Spa has the strictest cleaning and disinfection procedures around and I feel sick to my stomach at how unjust this all seems. Id also like to make it clear that staff and client safety is my priority, but these closures need to be fair across the board and right now it most certainly is not. To all our regular and loyal clients, I had such high hopes to be open before the end of May and the disappointment is real At least we have a vague timeline to work with now around the 18th June and provided all goes to plan, we hope to re-open our booking system soon. 05.01.2022 2020 through all the chaos, there was lots to celebrate and although it was hard to find the positives at times being in small business, on reflection, there were some awesome lessons learned . Our new Tagline ‘creative-calm-care’ was born from the pandemic... 3 words that embody Cove and the year that was . I watched my middle son graduate primary school and my kids all still got to enjoy their basketball season . We made some beautiful new friends and spent lots o...f time with old friends and of course family . We pulled off another successful Cove Xmas Event in November thanks to my team and my Mum! We won a Diamond Award from our @inskincosmedics partners in recognition of our sales and commitment to our beautiful skincare brands . My supportive team of Covettes that always have my back ...they are the backbone of my business and I appreciate them all so much . And of course, to all our fabulous clients who sent messages of support through lockdown and continued buying skincare and vouchers AND were there with bells on when we re-opened, I say THANK YOU.
