23.01.2022 WOW!!!! That’s all we have to say about the last two days! A huge amount of community support which we greatly appreciate ... The count was: Over 150 bags 15 tonnes of loose Cow Pow delivered (Ute and trailer loads) Just over 700kms travelled On our biggest weekend to date our loader decided to break down which resulted in a history lesson, when machinery hadn’t been invented but shovels were in abundance With a few spare parts and some advice he was back purring like a kitten to do most of the heavy lifting If you haven’t sorted your veggie patch this coming season and you’d like to see thriving plants and big yields, then Cow Pow is the product for you!!

22.01.2022 Who else likes to squeeze every bit of daylight out of this warmer weather. This load is part of a land regeneration project. The idea is to build the soil so it can sustain and improved pasture. Can’t wait to see the results

22.01.2022 Meet Imogen She is smiling because she knows that Cow Pow is going to help with moisture retention, improve soil health and introduce beneficial microbes that will continue to decompose the Cow Pow and unlock nutrients in the existing soil. Yes Imogen could have decreased the work load and got a bag of super dooper synthetic fertiliser to see a next day response, but she knows that getting her soil to work for her is one of the most critical things a gardener can do on t...he way to a low input garden Be smart, be like Imogen, choose Cow Pow #thinksustainable#thinklessworklongterm #thinkcowpow

16.01.2022 STARK CONTRAST !! The photo on the left is outside our yard, the one on the right is inside our yard When we bought this property it was completely choked with the hideous noxtious weed African Love Grass.... Since 2011 we tried: Sheep manure (only gave us more weeds) Horse manure (again more weeds) Super phosphate and various grass seeds( gave the weeds a boost and greened up the love grass) Then we stumbled across what’s now known as Cow Pow! A generous application of Cow Pow and rye grass seed over the top and the Love grass has packed its bags. A chemical free solution which can now be maintained into a stunning lawn or used to keep a few sheep

12.01.2022 All too often as humans, we decide what is right and what is wrong. Take this dandelion for example.... The usual thought process would be, it looks ugly, it’s not grass I don’t want it there Get the garden fork or the broadleaf weed killer out and deal with it.... We never stop to think Why is that weed here?? What is it’s function ?? On closer inspection you’ll see the big tap root!! This breaks through the topsoil helping with compaction and water penetration. It reaches where the grass can’t, to bring nutrients and minerals to the surface. There are microbes that live on these roots that make the minerals available to the grass at the top. This weed is here because something is out of balance either nutritional, microbial or bacterial. There is a way to a luscious lawn by working with weeds and without chemicals and we are going to find out.

11.01.2022 Veggie bed prep done right Thanks Jess for sharing Can’t wait to see the results

10.01.2022 Have you got your order in yet?

09.01.2022 In the last 12 months we have been doing some in depth research into soil health and finding how soil microbes, bacterias, fungis etc play vital roles in absorbing and fixing atmospheric carbon into the soil. It seems so simple right?! Healthy soil can actually ABSORB carbon - and REVERSE the amount of greenhouse gasses currently causing climate change!! As previously mentioned, Charles Massey’s book ‘The Call Of The Reed Warbler’ and... David Attenborough’s ‘A Life On Our Planet’ make it abundantly clear we need to change our minds on traditional farming practices. Nicole Masters book ‘For The Love Of Soil’ gives you a more scientific idea of soil cycles and processes. The new Netflix documentary ‘Kiss The Soil’ spells it out in clear English... we need to do something and we need to start yesterday. What can I do in my back yard you say... 1. Don’t use chemicals of any sort they are killing soil microbes and it is ending up in the food we eat. 2 Weeds are not a problem, they are an indication of poor soil health. Grass in your flower beds and veggie patches can be solved with prior management and a little elbow grease and mulch 3. If you know a farmer, a slight conversation and introduction to the above mentioned books and documentaries. One example of regenerative agriculture is a farm in western NSW. Through holistic management, planned animal management and the use of worm and compost extracts each year it sequesters the same amount of carbon as 28395 people do!! Think if every farm in Australia did this... Spread it around guys!!!
