23.01.2022 Preschool starts tomorrow...As you may already be aware the Department has measures in place with extra cleans and advice on recommended hygiene procedures. Can you please help us to keep everyone safe by reading the following protocols that we will have in place at the start of term 2 for those children in attendance at the preschool 8:30 - Parents to walk through gates and stay outside to help child to put bag in locker, lunch box and drink bottle in place. Please take yo...ur child to the bathroom to wash their hands, saying goodbye at the outside bathroom door. An educator will be at the bathroom to assist your child if required and move them towards the childrens sign in table to write their name. Drop off in the morning can be from anytime between 8:30am and 9:00am. The inner gate will remain open in morning and afternoon drop off/pick up times. Group gathering times will be limited and only if necessary to re-engage children in play based learning. Learning program activities will be completed at tables with small groups of children each day for no longer than 15 minutes at time and within free play times. We will continue to limit the number of chairs at eating tables and activity tables inside and outside to 4 chairs to a double table. We will continue to encourage children to wash their hands regularly throughout the day and after playing on the playground equipment, in the sandpit and on the swings. If many children are in attendance we will consider two groups and staggered lunch/eating times. 3:15 - End of day group time will be outside. Children will be dismissed into parents care from outside (weather permitting) or from veranda. Please remember not to enter the preschool building. Parents are able to pick up their child from 3:00pm to prevent too many people gathering at 3:30. At this stage Occasional Care and all Playgroups are still suspended and will not be starting this term yet.

23.01.2022 The preschool has some new artwork - thanks to an amazing artist and parent whose son attends preschool this year. We wanted to link in with the element of water (early thoughts are that the word Cowandilla means good water or plenty of water Kaurna word of Kauwi means water). A waterfall has been painted reflecting the gorgeous Australian colours we have in our landscape. We also wanted to link in with the flora and fauna of our local space so a large gumtree has been painted on the other side with some local fauna included in the design as well. Am amazing addition to the preschool learning environment. Artist is known as mr.senman on Instagram - look him up and support local!!!
