24.01.2022 Morning herd checks in the rain. Feels very jungley up there at the moment, without the tropical heat!

23.01.2022 2020 isn't all bad - it's raining *again* here so we called beer o'clock and are relaxing on the verandah with feet up listening to it on the roof. We'd love to hear your positives for this year! Our list below rain, rain and more rain! awesome results from our cover crops, heifer calves by Sam Chex, Trip Wire, Tuxedo, Spokesman and Cut'n Dried, and... pretty awesome TTT measurements for our 2yo Beretta heifers and their first A.I. season underway. See more

22.01.2022 Look what Nannie's got - a(nother lol) little black Beretta bull. She didn't put sprinkles on this one but what a ripper! He's got a BFF already and they trail around after the three cows with brand new calves. Pretty sure he's waiting for the new babies to come out and play!

21.01.2022 Kinda obsessed with the colours on Autumn! She was a light caramel all over when she was born but is changing all the time. Her rego certificate will say diluted Parker Brown - thanks to Jonathan Bentz for identifying it! Not surprising really given that she's by Trip Wire, who had some cool colours through his coat, and out of the super pretty Parker Brown cow, CCC Aoife M.

19.01.2022 This ugly graphic started as a rough visual comparison between the horn lengths of Sam (centre, 7yo) and Trigger (bottom, 2yo) but turned into a way to look at the different horn patterns of these 5 girls. Fun to see how genetics have kicked on in the last few years - Sam (by BH Bubba) has a beautiful shape & twist to her horns and took 6yrs to reach over 70" ttt. Trigger (by Beretta 531) is more lateral and reached that measurement in two & a bit years. She would've placed in her age class at the TLBAA 2020 Horn Showcase in US if she was eligible to enter [We think she would've won her age class, according to the docs we saw but yeah, yeah we understand it's a big claim to make and there are many cattle that aren't entered. It's still an awesome gauge to see how she's getting on].

19.01.2022 Having a peaceful arvo with cows...except for the little pick pocket following me. Both the peace and the laughs are important for mental health. #worldmentalhealthday2020

19.01.2022 Glow is the essence of beauty. Estee Lauder.

18.01.2022 If we've gotta start the work week, we may as well start it well! Happy Monday

17.01.2022 Longhorns and sunsets have a lot in common - both display spectacular colours, they share the capacity to stop you in your tracks and they both provide the most beautiful end to a day.

13.01.2022 We rarely show ourselves on the other side of the camera, but if you've never met us or are new to our page, here are some random things about us! 1 We met at a rodeo in 1997 and our first ‘date’ was a 3 day weekend trip to the Cutting Futurity in Tamworth! 2 It was cowboy meets event rider. Cory has competed on both ABCRA and Pro circuits here in Aus, and spent time in the USA steerwrestling with the great KC Jones. His highlights were winning a round at Prescott ...Frontier Days Rodeo (the oldest rodeo in the world) and making the short-go (final) at both Nampa, Idaho and Salinas California, in front of a crowd of 30,000. I was an event rider at the time and my career highlight was competing at the Gawler & Melbourne 3DEs and getting around alive on a stunning TB whose genius truly bordered madness! I got to represent NSW on the state team at Gawlerbut feel compelled to say the elite squad were all resting horses at the time ! 3 We got our first longhorn cross heifers in 1998 to breed time event cattle. Longhorns became the passion of a lifetime! 4 Cory’s one of those annoying people who's good at everything- he's a qualified plant mechanic, a rural contractor, cattleman and A.I. technician, the hardest working guy I know and he has the biggest heart (both get him in trouble!). He is ably managed by Goobie dog at ALL times. 5 I’m pretty conventional on the outside but a boho soul deep down - a creative, woo-woo loving, hyper-sensitive, impatient creature with cows and trees for friends and more ideas for businesses, products and magic than a) are good for me and b) I have time for. Fave motto (Cory rolls his eyes ‘cos I have many): Never trade your authenticity for approval.

13.01.2022 Our Christmas cards have arrived from England and we couldn't love them more! The painting is by the super talented Lauren from Lauren's Cows and the model is our heifer CCC Blown Away. Please visit Laurens page for a link to her site with loads of beautiful paintings and products.

13.01.2022 Checking cows at the moments reminds me of the gorilla tours in the Congo (except not as exotic, extraordinary or expensive). You hear them crunching through this feed before you see them, they're all contentedly grazing around you, and every now & then a curious one approaches to say hello or get a scratch.

11.01.2022 Storm incoming!

10.01.2022 Did I stumble upon mother's group, or a spiritual ritual being performed among the stones? #toomuchoutlander #isthatathing #yesIknowthatsapotato

09.01.2022 Caught up with CCC Blown Away today (by Beretta 531, out of CCC Sarah M). She's grown a bunch since the Christmas card photo was taken! She's not quite 2yrs 3mths.

08.01.2022 CCC Jessie J is Cory's sentimental favourite. While she's not our longest horned cow, she has lovely horn pattern, a beautiful soft temperament, big body and lovely mild brindle colouring from her father Trip Wire. She also does a fine job on her calves every year - the mark of a good cow.

07.01.2022 When you remember you're out of hay at home but you're standing in a hay paddock with a man and his baler. Voila! One mini round to fit in the car.

07.01.2022 Everyone look bored on 3...

06.01.2022 We were honoured to have Lauren, an artist who specialises in beautiful portraits of cows, choose one of our heifers to feature on her 2020 Christmas cards. CCC Blown Away is a recently turned 2yo heifer by Beretta 531, a granddaughter of the awesome Hubbells 20 Gauge. Lauren is from from Cumbria, England so it's a very global project - an Australian heifer of an American breed painted by an English artist! Lauren has said "Decorated in baubles of Red, Blue and Wh...ite, it proudly represents her Australian home as well as her American roots!" If you're interested in these cards or to see Lauren's other beautiful works, her website is https://www.laurenscows.com/ and FB page is in the comments. Pics below of the gorgeous completed painting on the card and a recent pic of the beautiful model. :)

05.01.2022 It was this kind of Sunday here.

04.01.2022 This little moo knows how to put the world to rights when things are a wee bit off kilter...and also when they're not.

02.01.2022 Here's Ruby to beautify your Sunday evening - doesn't Spring look good on her! She's due a Cut'n Dried calf shortly and we can't wait! :D

02.01.2022 When beef producers walk into your paddock and say "s*** that's a good heifer" CCC Belinda B (Belle) is a 2yo heifer by Point Power out of a Rebel Red cow.
