This afternoon we’ll have Matthew and Maurice from @goldbergaberlinestudio in our Studio along with Clarence Valley artists and community members creating more pieces for this exciting work which will be a part of @grafton_regional_gallery opening exhibitions when the new Gallery extension is opened. Posted @withregram @grafton_regional_gallery UNWRAPPING: Desire, Allure and the Culture of Single Use Plastic is an exciting installat...ion, and the fruition of a 2020 project in collaboration with @goldbergaberlinestudio and local artists @cassandra_lyn_palmer, @kerriebowlesart, @julesart16 and @pameladenise_artist and GAS artists @mauricegoldberg and @matthewaberline. Recycling our Clarence Valley’s Single Use Plastics has been a way to incorporate and experience how many products packaging are throwaways. Unwrapping has as its base, a completely biodegradable base made from sustainably-farmed eucalyptus cellulose. This exhibition has been an opportunity to experience and understand the differences between pvc, petrochemical synthetic plastics, degradable and professionally biodegradable and home compostable films. 13.01.2022 Today we held the first of our community workshops for the @goldbergaberlinestudio and @grafton_regional_gallery project using single use plastics. Members of our Cowper Collage Congregation group @cowpercollagecongregation made the first in a series of large sheets that will be used for a large scale inflatable sculpture for the Clarence Valley. We cut and stuck coloured shapes of plastic all day and it was so satisfying to see the result at the end of the day. If you’d like to be involved in future workshops just get in touch - leave us a comment, email us or DM. It’s completely free and it’s so much fun!
