13.01.2022 Ok Trail Riders it is officially too wet to ride at Nargong Road tomorrow BUT we are still hoping to ride at Kate and Tony's place instead!! Fingers crossed the rain eases off in the morning enough for us to get a ride in. A decision will be made at 7am and i will post on the page straight away whatever is decided.

13.01.2022 Well - that's the club AGM done and dusted for 2020 (apologies for the delay - i don't know where the last week went!!) It was a bit of a disappointing turn out of members - but I guess that means that everyone is happy with how the club is being run. As a result there is no change to the club executive positions for 2021: President: Tony Lofthouse Vice President: Maurice Nicholson... Secretary: Kate Lofthouse Treasurer: Rachel Meek Membership and Publicity: Karen Casey Special thanks to both Kate and Rachel for taking on their positions again after having stated last year that 2020 would be their last in those positions!! It's been an 'interesting' year for the club- as for everyone in the world of Covid- but we've managed to still have a few rides and other activities whilst keeping Covid safe, and President Tony thanked everyone for their efforts to keep things going in 2020. We have plenty of fun coming up as we finish off this year with a couple of great rides and another Double Dan Clinic so stay tuned for details and ' Live Life Trail Riding'

12.01.2022 Saddle up riders - we are going ahead with the ride today out at Tony and Kates place!! If you are coming could you please reply here or message Kate so we know who we are waiting for.

12.01.2022 HAPPY NEW YEAR Trail Riders!! Lets hope that 2021 see's more riding and less disruption than last year This Sunday we are kicking off the year with our traditional ride at Farleigh Beach - on the banks of the Lachlan River. It's always a fun day - a shorter ride around the local roads followed by cooling off and splashing about in the river with our horses. As we didn't get to have a Christmas / end of year get together in December we will combine this ride with a club ...get together lunch. All members are welcome to come and join us for lunch and a catchup even if you don't want to do the ride! Please contact Maurice on 0428 271 896 for more info or to RSVP. * Unfortunately our Covid Safety Plan is still necessary so it's just BYO food and drinks and Please if you have been in a Covid hotspot in the 14 days prior to the ride DO NOT COME. Looking forward to seeing everyone 'at the beach!'

12.01.2022 Great way to kick off the Trail Riding year with our annual Farliegh Beach Ride on Sunday. Summer decided to turn up after the milder weather we've been having, and while it was not too bad while riding, it certainly warmed up and cooling off in the river was a welcome relief! The big group of 17 riders included new members Cassie, Rae, Amba and Emily on their first club ride, and we also welcomed 4 riders from Orange ATHRA club. We rode about 10km on the local roads before ...stripping off the saddles and getting our swimming gear on and cooling off in the river. the pics tell the story of how much fun was had by all (except Kate who still doesn't like getting her feet wet lol) Thanks Trail Boss Maurice for a fun ride, and also Kate, Amba and Penny for the extra photos.

11.01.2022 Next Club Ride - Sunday 25th October. Leonie is taking us to a lovely grazing property out between Woodstock and Lyndhurst that we haven't visited for a couple of years. What better way to spend a Sunday than in the saddle riding undulating green pastures!! All the details are in the ride notice that members should have received this week. For more information, or to RSVP before Thursday 22nd please contact Leonie on 0431 961 416

07.01.2022 Dedicated or just a bit crazy???? Or maybe the six riders who saddled up in the misty drizzle this morning were just sick of having our rides interrupted this year thanks to the combination of Covid 19 and wet weather!! There was a foggy start to the day out at the Lofthouse's place and just a light drizzle as the really keen arrived. As we saddled up a good shower came over so the saddles were covered to keep them dry while the kettle was boiled and we enjoyed a cuppa and ...yummy slice. Eventually the rain subsided to a light drizzle again and we headed off across the paddocks full of lush long green feed - some of the riders had a hard time keeping their mounts from stopping to snack all along the way! We met the resident cows and Tony and his trusty cow horse Bailey took a bit of time to teach Naughty Boy that cows aren't really all that scary! Especially these ones whose bellies were so full of the lush feed that they couldn't be bothered moving much. We continued on to check out the misty view from the quarry before the rain started to get a bit heavier again and we headed home. Just an easy, gently wander around for an hour or so that was enjoyed by everyone. By the time we got back we were happy to quickly unsaddle the horses and rug them while we took cover and enjoyed lunch and a good chat (as usual!) Thanks Tony and Kate for the last minute change of venue which made it possible to get a ride in and thanks to those riders that braved the conditions - a bit of moisture ever hurt anyone

05.01.2022 Another wet weekend when we want to ride!! We are keeping an eye on conditions for tomorrow's ride and will make a decision with the property owner's this evening. But don't despair!! We have an alternate venue in mind so we can still get a ride in So stay tuned - i will let you know this evening.

04.01.2022 Seems appropriate as we start the new year - whatever your plans or dreams for 2021 just go for it!

02.01.2022 Next Club Ride Sunday 29th November. After wet conditions last month meant we weren't able to ride out at Nargong Road, it looks like we'll be all good for a fantastic ride out there this time. Leonie can't come next sunday so she took Trail Boss Rachel and I for a pre ride today and WOW it is a super ride!! Picture perfect grazing country, rolling green hills and open paddocks with chest high feed mostly with a bit of timbered country as well - and a big dam to cool off... in at the end. Oh - and lots of curious and friendly cows too! It's about 14km - though there is an option for a short cut if we need it - so will be 2.5 to 3hours riding. For more info or to RSVP please contact Rachel on 0417 444 898 by Thursday.
