20.01.2022 More on the catch up agenda ... a few things here.... Note that this weekend "daylight saving" starts again .... (clocks go forward ....we "loose sleep" Sat night- pretty sure that's how it goes)?.... Also this weekend we do plan to do a covid appropriate communion service in our morning service which will be a great encouraging reminder as we celebrate Jesus- the cross, our salvation & hope. Further- in our service this week we will be thinking about How we can "NOT lose heart" & serve with Joy - even in the midst of sorrow. Then from the 11th Oct - a new series begins Called RAISE UP - Raise up your Hopes. Raise UP - Raise up your Head, hands & voices. Raise UP - Raise up somebody. (Your neighbour) Raise UP - Raise up your Saviour. I suspect that like me- most of us are a "bit tired" (sick) of the whole covid thing - it has been a very "challenging year". However, as we look around our region at the moment we can and do see evidence of God's glory & goodness with what looks like a "glorious" season; Remember to practice praise, be thankful & press forward. I understand and respect those who want to continue to "stay home" for a while longer, particularly those who a immune compromised; we keep praying for you. However, I also want to remind folk that we do have covid safe practices in place and that we do have considerable space to do "our distancing"; so we would love to see you join us. Church is different at the moment- but it's NOT dead - Looking forward to catch up again soon..... blessings ag

19.01.2022 This week - tomorrow - our last in the revelation series .... Last week I shared some lyrics that John Lennon might have used had He known clearly the hope that could be had in Christ - some were asking for a copy ...... I'm not a song writer or a muso ..... so it is far from "right" - but I think the theology fits pretty well - significantly though if you know Jesus - you don't need to "imagine - you simply need to trust, endure and wait. The new heavens & new earth, the n...ew Jerusalem .... No curse - a new order - a great hope. Remain & rejoice! Blessings ag "Imagine" Re worded . 09.01.2022 Hi friends, with the continuation of the covid 19 restrictions & recommendations being implemented - church life continues to be challenging and different. The great news is that we are very fortunate to have facilities that enable us to have the capacity to continue to function all be it in "social distanced sort of way". For our local connections I want to let you know and remind you that we DO have our AGM on this Sunday after church, 30th August, at the church. In this co...ntext our leadership team will be ratified and appointed. We need to have a quorum of two thirds of our members to conduct this business; so please join us for the meeting if you can. We have plenty of space for social distancing and many people are wearing masks to the services but they aren't mandatory. The two Elders to ratify are; Ashley White & Geoff Wilson The nominations that we have received for deacons are Ken Atkins; Gwen Burrows; Andrew Morrison Russell Squire; Ashley White; Geoff Wilson If Ashley and Geoff aren't recognised as elders then they are eligible to be elected as deacons. If they are recognised as elders they are not included in the election for deacons. Significantly the Bible clearly reminds us and reinforces the importance of "church life" by using different metaphors to describe our "connection" to one another & to Christ. We are the body of Christ, made up of many differing parts & Jesus is our head. We are the family of God, A building, a living temple. God lives in us & we serve Him in His house. Together we grow, serve & glorify the Lord Jesus. Yes, our personal faith and witness is vital; but so too is our corporate connectedness. It is not one or the other- it is a Both! None of us can function on our own, a hand is not isolated from the arm, nor can an eye say to an ear, "I don't need you" 1 cor 12. If in this covid 19 context governments around the world have made the point "we are all in this together" & we are united in our humanity - Our identity IN Christ unites us further & deeper; We have been bought by His blood, united by His cross & resurrection. So please join me in person & in prayer - Let us unite under Christ. Exalt Him, serve Him and aim to grow - both individually & corporately.... pray thy Kingdom come- amen! .
