25.01.2022 M O B I L E - Today was our last day of the Fun Friends Program with Natalie Rush from Cowra Information and Neighbourhood Centre - CINC. Nat has spent the last 12 weeks with us on a Tuesday in Holmwood sharing positive messages to build confidence and resilience in our preschoolers, helping us recognise our feelings with body cues and so much more. The children came dressed as their ‘hero’ and were presented with a participation certificate and gift from Nat. We have loved having her visit and hope to see her again soon. She is so beautiful Flossie

24.01.2022 Building capable and confident children is achieved by allowing children to take risk, learn through practical experience and to monitor their own safety. Let’s allow our children time to play and experiment. Time to learn from mistakes and obstacles in their environment. To assess their own risks and build the skills to be capable, confident learners.

24.01.2022 EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATORS DAY Today is a chance for all of us to say thank you to the early childhood educators in our communities. Early Childhood Educato...rs Day recognises and celebrates the work of Australias educators and their vital role in the wellbeing and healthy development of the young children in their care. While most visits are on hold at the moment, one of my favourite parts of this job is visiting our littlest learners and seeing their educators at work, helping them to grow and thrive in our communities. Preschool and early childhood education helps set our young people up as they embark on lifes journey. So to all of our early childhood educators, a huge thank you for all you do each and every day! To mark this day and help grow our educators, Minister for Education and Early Childhood Learning Sarah Mitchell has announced a new Early Childhood Education scholarship program. Students can apply for up to $20,000 to undertake or complete their qualifications, and up to 40 scholarships will be awarded each year for three years. If you or someone you know is interested in this program, head to https://education.nsw.gov.au//profes/teaching-scholarships. all pre COVID

20.01.2022 M O B I L E | We are very fortunate to have the incredible Natalie Rush from Cowra Information and Neighbourhood Centre - CINC facilitating the Fun FRIENDS Program with our preschoolers at Holmwood. Fun FRIENDS guides the social and emotional development of children using fun, play-based group activities. Fun FRIENDS nurtures the childs development by teaching them to engage resilience skills early on. Today Nat spoke with the children about their feelings, how to recogn...ise them and provided strategies to overcome unhelpful red thoughts. Childrens sense of belonging, connectedness and wellbeing is promoted, children have the right to express their emotions, thoughts, and views constructively. Our preschoolers practiced breathing techniques that can be used whenever they are feeling worried or overwhelmed with emotion. The children were able to practice this without tools however a bubble blower certainly made it fun and memorable, blowing your bubbles away. We are very lucky to have Nat share her passion for this program with us every Tuesday, the children are always excited to see her arrive each week with her basket of fun. OB This is so fun, hey? CE Yer, I love how we can just blow our worries away.
