21.01.2022 On behalf of the NSW Dorset Championships organising committee, I would like to take this opportunity to invite you all to the 34th NSW Dorset Championships. This year, due to the outbreak of COVID-19, we made the decision to postpone our annual event. This has allowed the committee's organization of the event to meet relevant conditions set out by NSW Government and health authorities. In the lead up to this year's event the drought conditions experience throughout many stat...Continue reading

21.01.2022 $132,535 FOR UPGRADES TO COWRA SHOWGROUND PAVILION AMENITIES Kicking off a busy day in Cowra with an announcement of $132,535 to the Cowra Show Society for the purposes of upgrading the toilets in the main Showground Pavilion. This much-loved building has undergone an incredible transformation over the past 3.5 years and the program of improvement continues under the leadership of President Matthew Bohman and the Show Society. I’m proud of their work to date, ensuring t...he venue is used by multiple community groups from near and far. Congratulations on receiving this funding and I look forward to returning soon. Sx PS: a huge THANK YOU to Charlotte for taking charge of my phone for photos on the ground today, and big brother Ethan for the delicious morning tea! See more

20.01.2022 With the end of the school year, Our Heritage Pavilion will be busy with a number of School Assemblies in the coming days. Everyone entering the building will be required to complete a QR Registration. We have rostered extra staff on for this, but we ask that you be a little earlier than you normally would so that we are not overwhelmed. Could you also note that there will be 2 gates open on Grenfell Road. We would advise that if you use the Cattle Gate, which is the one closest to Showground Lane, you should park behind the Pavilion. The Showground Lane Gate should not be used. Thank you for your assistance, and we look forward to welcoming you into our air conditioned Heritage Pavilion.

19.01.2022 The Cowra Show Society had been allocated a BBQ day at the Sydney Royal Easter Show this year (2020). Unfortunately, due to the shows cancellation, we were unable to complete the task and earn funds for our Society. However, Woolworths have come on board and donated $1200 to each Show Society that were unable to earn funds from the BBQ. We thank you Woolworths

08.01.2022 With the outbreak of COVID-19 continuing to affect our lives in many way, the cancellation of events across the region has been a noticeable absence. Annual agricultural shows which have long been a part of regional communities have especially been missed, however almost all committees have vowed to be back bigger and better than ever in 2021, and the Cowra Show Society is no different. Cowra Show Society Secretary, Graham Eddy, said that the strong support of the local com...munity and their family of corporate sponsors enable the Cowra Show Society to do more, be more and reach further. "As a not-for-profit organisation, the Cowra Show Society relies on corporate support to be able to offer our community a bigger and better Spring Show, a unique Wine Show and the NSW Dorset Championships," he said. Vibrant Venue: The improvements made to the show pavilion mean that many more events and celebrations can be held at the venue. Photo: Supplied. "We value our sponsors and would like to thank each for their past contributions to the Cowra Show Society. We would encourage all Cowra residents to support them. Our incredible volunteers are another area that deserve a big thank you,and although the Cowra Wine Show and the Cowra Spring Show have this year been canceled due to COVID-19, our volunteers have still been working in improving the Heritage Pavilion as planning a bigger and better 2021". Mayor of Cowra, Cr Bill West, said that while many in the community can choose to complain, it was volunteers who put up their hands that make a difference. "I think it's something the Show Society should be acknowledged for, Matt Bohman and the team for providing some sort of recognition to the volunteers and the people who work so hard behind the scene," he said. Along with sponsors and volunteers, members play a vital role for the Cowra Show Society. Although the Show will not be held this year, it's important that members maintain their membership as per the Cowra Show Society Incorporated Constitution, with memberships fees sent to members in August. The committee has not been sitting idle during the COVID-19 outbreak and have carried out improvements in the heritage pavilion. The foyer has been painted in heritage colours, new equipment installed in the kitchen including a commercial dishwasher, along with reverse cycle air conditioning, and new tables, chairs, cloths and chair covers. A new sound system is also currently being installed to help improve the facilities. The Cowra Spring Show to be held in 2021 will be the 141st Show and will be an event not to be missed. For more information about the Show and other events such as the Wine Show and Dorset Championships, visit www.cowrashow.com.
