22.01.2022 Rubber rings WITH pain relief delivery. Sarah from NUMNUTS visited the clinic last week and gave us a demonstration on how their product works. The @numnutsdevice delivers pain relief into the tail/scrotum as the rubber ring is applied... its pretty awesome! Advantages: increased productivity, efficiency and stepping up animal welfare standards within the industry.... #numnuts #painrelief #lambmarking

22.01.2022 How cute at these babies!

22.01.2022 This gorgeous boy is Ollie ... he presented to the clinic this morning in a HUGE amount of pain as he had a testicular torsion ... OUCH! This is a relatively rare condition (especially in pups) that occurs when the testicle rotates in the scrotum cutting off blood supply and causing the tissue to die. Emergency surgery is required and you can see how badly affected the testicle was! He has recovered well, and thankfully is much more comfortable! #cavalierkingcharlesspaniel #sweetboy #allbetternow

Her owner reports that even driving in the car past the clinic she gets super excited, she loves pats in the waiting room, and the treats, but her ABSOLUTE favourite thing is to watch our adoption kittens! ..... The non-stop kitten play has her transfixed! Thanks so much for visiting beautiful girl ... #newyearcheck

21.01.2022 And this little Dude... is Thomas! He would have to be one of the happiest little dogs We’ve met and is 100% personality. He’s had a acutely sore eye an was thoroughly examined yesterday by Vet Kellie and behaved beautifully! ... Pugs, due to their facial confirmation, are quite prone to eye injuries. (Along with all brachycephalic dog breeds) anytime any dog had an acutely shut eye, it’s needs veterinary attention. Corneal ulcers and wounds are quite common, incredibly painful and if left untreated can result in permanent blindness. Thomas has already had a few issues with his eyes, so it was very important to act quickly and treat him to ensure a good outcome. He bounced in for a recheck today and all seems to be going well! #pugoftheday

19.01.2022 Meet Piper This gorgeous girl is pretty special. She has an amazing talent, and as you can see it’s related to this Kebab stick! She had been a little bit off at home over a period of a week when her owners noticed a lump come up on her left side. She was checked out by Vet Peter, was bright and happy and otherwise healthy, placed on antibiotics as an abscess was suspected and then went home.... She continued to be happy and healthy, however the lump didn’t get better, so surgery was scheduled with Vet Emma. When explored, it was found to everyone’s huge surprise, that the lump was the end of a KEBAB STICK! The full 13cm length stick was removed and then fearing the worst, Vet Emma explored her internal organs via an incision in her belly. Amazingly the hole where the kebab poked through her stomach, worked its way through her liver, and through her chest wall was found. And there was NO problems, no abscess, no evidence of infection or disease. Piper recovered beautifully post surgery and is now full of energy, being loved by her family at home. She is totally banned from the kitchen bin and family BBQ’s from now on!! To swallow a full kebab stick is a pretty amazing (yet problematic) talent! #kebabstickinjury #bordercollie #dogsurgery #survivor #specialgirl #dogswillbedogs

15.01.2022 Duke is a dude! This beautiful boy visited yesterday and was so well behaved! (Plus gave hand shakes!) He had a lump checked -Vet Kellie used a small needle to take some cells from the lump to check for suspicious activity. It was a Lipoma, a fat based lump (- swipe left), commonly found in older dogs and totally fine.... He had a sore leg - and we are suspicious he has stretched or inflamed his cruciate ligament, so was dispensed some pain relief and prescribed rest - no more ball chasing for now! AND he had his teeth checked, being nearly 7 he has some very mild gum inflammation and gingivitis, so we came up with some strategies to try and increase mechanical stimulation to his gums. And after all that he just wanted pats! Thanks for visiting DUKE so glad we could help! #vetvisits #checkover #preventativehealth

13.01.2022 And we made it! It was a long, cold and uncomfortable night, but well worth it! @ceosleepout As a team, the business leaders of our town have collectively raised $14,750!! #amazing Thank you to everyone who supported us! ... #thanks #gratitude #community #cowra See more

12.01.2022 LUMP Checks are important This lovely sweet girl is Jessie She was seen by our Vets a few weeks ago when her owners noticed a fast growing, large lump on her side .... She was quickly booked for surgery where it was removed under anaesthesia. As you can see - to provide a good margin of skin around the lump (ensuring complete excision) and to allow the skin to be placed back together we had to cut quite a big hole. It was quite a challenge to get the skin to oppose without tension (to allowing optimal healing) and a combination of tension relieving techniques were used to facilitate this. Laboratory results confirmed that the lump was a rare malignant tumour of the sweat glands in Jessie’s skin and that it was all removed. She’s now had her stitches out (and she is very pleased about that!) and it’s healed beautifully! Please get your dogs lumps checked x

11.01.2022 This is Taylor she is so gentle and sweet and at nearly 12 she is equivalent to an 87year old! Looking after our older family members is really important, and arthritis is one of the most common health issues we see in our older pets. Especially during the colder months Dogs tend to have issues in their joints (hips and elbows) where cats tend to develop arthritis in their spines. There are lots of things we can do to help, and Taylor popped in today to have her regul...ar Zydax @parnelllivingscience Injections. These work really well in keeping her mobile, they are super safe and can last up to 6 months! #caninearthritismanagement

02.01.2022 GRASS SEEDS! This beautiful girl is Millie! She popped by yesterday as her owner noticed she had a sore leg. On examination it was found she had numerous grass seeds digging into her armpit causing irritation and pain (see pics) .. ouch! ... When they were removed - it was surprising how many there were! - the area was flushed and cleaned and she started her antibiotics and pain relief. She will be feeling so much better! Please carefully check you dog for grass seeds! There is SO much grass around from this amazing spring, but unfortunately it comes at a price. Check your dog over daily, the seeds love to lodge in crevices, between toes, in underarms, eyes, ears and even around bottoms! Simply pulling them out prevents them from sitting, becoming moist and moving through the skin into your dogs body. Little abscesses are common and sometimes dogs require surgery to remove seeds. Clipping long haired dogs also really helps along with regular mowing, keeping the mature seeds out of your lawns.
