23.01.2022 Special thanks to the FLYNN COMMUNITY GROUP especially Luke Stuckey and the Stuckey family, the Paulett family and all who made this happen ,farmers caring for ...farmers, This was the second large drive of hay from the Flynn community that went to the fire areas,To all the farmers who responded to come and load it was just a great community effort. It was good to see the country burnt now changing colour after the recent rains, but dams full of black sludge the poor old Tambo didn’t look to inviting to go for a swim, Again thanks to our transport family, Adrian Nethercote, Joe Scarfo, John Allen and Ben Bates truckies do carry this country Ray Pearce and Lou Mahar who were carting elsewhere See more

20.01.2022 Load number 4 delivered today out of Orbost. This load donated by farmers over Colac way that we picked up yesterday. Thanks to the landmark stock agents up at Orbost doing there bit to make sure those that need it most get it. Sounds bad further east where we still can’t access so will be plenty more loads to go. Pretty lonely convoy of one for me today but gotta do what ya gotta do. Any fuel companies feel like coming on board we could do with a hand (hint hint) Today’s load all organised via heyfield lions.

20.01.2022 Hey all for any donations for fires can you please make to, Westpac account details are: BSB: 733262 Account: 604312 By donating you are buying hay that will be given directly to those effected and dispersed via heyfield lions club to make sure the right people get it. Can you inbox me with your details so that I can send receipts any help is more than appreciated. If you don’t feel comfortable donating to us please go to heyfield lions supporting Gippsland farmers page they have details there where you can also donate.

18.01.2022 Gday all with the colder weather starting to close in and grass growth slowing down make sure you take advantage and fill your shed while we still have stock available. All varieties are still available although getting low on a couple of them. We can also bulk loads if needed of silage hay and straw.

17.01.2022 So it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything un fire related. We are now able to supply you with maxi trace. It’s a liquid with all the trace elements your animals need plus vitamins a,d&e for healthier animals, shinier coats, better weight gain and better conception rates. Only 3ml per day in water or on there feed so a 2litre bottle (pictured) will last a long time for horses or hobby farmer but we can also supply 20litre drums and 1000 litre pods for use in dairy systems etc. the 2 litre containers are $30. Please get in contact with me for pricing on bigger lots.

17.01.2022 Another load delivered to east gippy today all the way from Coleraine. Thanks to those that donated the hay and Heyfield lions club for organising everything. With all the drama and uncertainties in the world at the moment animals still need to be fed and whilst people will likely be holding onto there pennies at the moment if anyone is looking to donate don’t forget the heyfield lions club. The effort they have been putting in is second to none.

16.01.2022 Got some more hay into Cliffton Creek today. Great to see some rain (despite having our hay on the ground) great community spirit up there had tractors coming from all directions to unload.

16.01.2022 Gday all just an update that we will be continuing our June pricing on current stock until all gone. We have sold out of clover rye and getting low on lucerne rye and oats but still a good amount of Lucerne and rye/oat mix available.

16.01.2022 New season second cut Lucerne going in the shed. Please be patient for the next few days as we get the rest of the hay done will announce open times in the next few days.

15.01.2022 Long post warning! Three more loads in past Omeo today my truck and 2 of Ben Bates (Bates Ag). All organised by Heyfield Lions. Thanks to Andrew (Branny) and Georgia Bransgrove for running the load up (Gippsland Metal Recyclers). Thanks vicpol for the escort in.... I’d also like to make special recognition to Deb McNicol for a very big donation today to help the cause. And also everyone else that’s donated thus far. On that note I have found out today that I will be eligible to have my running cost covered via the VFF so I will not be seeking help for fuel now but still taking donations to go towards hay once donation hay stops. By all means if your not sure to donate to us please do to the Heyfield lions supporting Gippsland checkout there Facebook page. There doing a great job to get hay to where it’s needed and have been supporting farmers through drought prior to the fires. We wish everyone the best tomorrow with more trying weather forecast

14.01.2022 Apologies for lack of updates. This donated load went up a couple of days ago and were just getting a few of our own jobs done with the truck then back into it again. Big thanks to Dave Nicklen (Nicklen Ag contracting) for driving the truck. Our donations are now up to $5215 thank you everyone that’s chipping in and a special thanks to Capelli on Raymond in sale that have been taking donations to chip in to this project. So please if you need your hair done etc give them a ri...ng. There are plenty of hay donations coming into the fires from out of the area at the moment but once the hype (not sure that’s the right word to use) has passed the need for the farmers/stock owners for hay will go well into autum/winter depending on if they get enough rain to spring new grass. As such we will continue to seek donations be it hay or money or fencing materials to help out as long as needed. Thanks again everyone that’s chipping in

14.01.2022 Gday all anyone at all that may have any hay they can donate please let us know and we can help pickup etc if local. I have about half a semi load at the moment trying to get a full load to take up as soon as we can get back in after this bloody horrible wind goes. Also have got another farm who will sell me some hay at $60 a roll if anyone can put in any cash donations. (See second post for bank details) thank you very much to everyone that has chipped in so far let’s hope everyone is safe today. Also anyone with vacant paddocks with good water supply if anything available with good fencing please let us know as stock will need carting out we can keep trying to get hay for them but will need secure paddocks and water

08.01.2022 Few loads up into Buchan today

06.01.2022 Good evening all just a quick update on where we are at $1815 raised so far plus hay donations and people that have directly brought hay to take themselves. Thank you so much to everyone even if you have donated elsewhere there are plenty of people/groups doing and outstanding job. No deliveries today but the truck is over Colac way loading another 48 rolls of donated hay to run up tomorrow. Thanks Hayden Finch (orbit agricultural) for picking up the slack and running the truck over for us.

05.01.2022 Gday all PLEASE HELP! In light of the current fires in east Gippsland I’m feeling a little helpless back here. There has been an unbelievable amount of area burnt out and unfortunately this also includes houses, sheds etc. I am sure along with it any hay that people had. If my financial situation was better I’d be running a load of hay up but I unfortunately can’t afford that. What I can afford is my time truck and machinery to try and get hay where it’s most needed. So I’m ...asking would people be willing or able to help out by donating to buy hay or anything you can to help out? My plan to raise enough to take a full load of 861 small squares bales up with hopefully help from heyfield lions club to organise who needs it/ distribute it. This is being $12,300 needed for 41 bundles of lucerne rye mix. Now this is new for me and any advice appreciated as to how to collect funds I’m thinking a separate bank account I have where I can post updates for people to see where the money is going? I’m unsure of the go fund me setup. If we get more money raised then more hay will go up be it more smalls, grass rolls I can source or silage. Anything extra that can’t make a load will be given to heyfield lions to support the same cause. Please also share about Thanks, be safe and any messages etc please be patient with me. John

04.01.2022 We have some out of shape lucerne rye pack available at $230 each there is roughly 6 packs there. Good hay but the stack moved causing them to change shape and makes them a bit harder to handle and wanting to clear them out the way for the squarer packs.

03.01.2022 More donation hay up to the fires. Great to see a light tinge of green in some of the very hot burnt parts and some green in the paddocks although a lot of weeds. Despite the grass there will be ongoing need for hay in these areas especially as it gets colder. If anyone is still wanting to help out please donate directly to heyfield lions club, https://www.facebook.com/heyfieldlionsclubsupportinglocalfarmers/ It appears all the funding for transport has come to an end and with the major so called charities not opening there purse strings it’s smaller clubs like this that will be there till the helps no longer needed.

02.01.2022 Great to see the bales getting airlifted into no road access areas. One of our first loads was out to the airport for this very purpose
