25.01.2022 Ok folks! The sun is shining, vegies are growing and chooks are laying. Are we interested in a fortnightly Cowwarr produce market? Buy/swap/sell??
23.01.2022 The Rec Reserve Committee did a serious amount of brain work last week. We participated in a training workshop supported by DELWP and Wellington Shire to assist Management Committees in good governance and planning. Perfect timming after our community engament and sausage sizzle night. Plenty of material to work with. A welcome dinner break at the Cricket Club Hotel. Lovely meal.
23.01.2022 The DELWP Gippsland, Macalister Working for Victoria Team did a fantastic job. Have you noticed all the great work they did? What a positive community outcome from the Pandemic. What a boost to the rec reserve, it would have taken volunteers for ever to get these jobs done. Thanks Team and Garry Blair for your co-ordination and sorting all the materials and equipment.
22.01.2022 This afternoon Carol posted on @Discover Cowwarr that a snake was seen disappearing in the culvert out the front of the Hall. Your Cowwarr Reserves Committee swung into action deciding it was better to be safe than sorry. Rob the Latrobe Valley Reptile Removal-Snake Catcher promptly arrived and found the scaled stripey reptile in said culvert. It was a large blue tongue lizard with a most unusual double tail. The bluey is being rehomed and we can be assured that there are ...no snakes currently lurking in the vicinity of our Hall. However, it always pays to be vigilant as snakes are out and about now. Thanks Carol for letting us know, and thanks Rob for your prompt call out

21.01.2022 Happy Christmas to you all!
21.01.2022 Cowwarr Public Hall restoration continues. With the support of a grant from Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal of just under $10,000 the committee is able to restore the hall floor. Alan from Maffra Floors has been working hard to repair and restore the floor to its formal glory. It will take two weeks before it can be used so the surface can reach its optimum hardness. It will make such a huge difference for a user experience and for ease of cleaning. ... Hopefully we will be able to have the dancers rocking again.

15.01.2022 On the 29th January 24 students arrived at Cowwarr Primary School for their first day of 2020 with eager anticipation and their bags full to the brim with all t...he school supplies they would need for the school year. They discussed all the events of the summer and what they got for Christmas. They learnt who the new students were and where they would be seated. Sadly this would be their last day at the school also as devastatingly their school burnt to the ground that evening. Students will relocated temporarily to Heyfield Primary School. Help us to assist them in the transition as their school is rebuilt. We have many donations for raffle prizes and will list them as they come to hand. Thank you to those businesses who have donated either a prize or a voucher.
15.01.2022 The gathered community got activated and contributed enthusiastically to the various ideas that were gathered from the chalkboard and facebook posts for activities that could happen in the Hall and around town. We now have a great list of ideas that were voted on during the evening. Thanks, Jo Caminiti, for your facilitation of this engagement process.
