24.01.2022 Had a great weekend at Sandown Historics. We had rain wind hot sun more rain and even hail thrown at us over the weekend but that didnt dampen the enthusiasm or the excitement of the crowd. Congratulations to everyone that drove well in the conditions and commiserations to those that had unfortunate incidents. Hopefully Coxys truck had enough stuff to keep a few more cars on the track. And just when I thought Id seen em all, along came these two beauties! The sensational M...ini Muscle Car XB coupe , the brainchild of Shayne Smith and Garry Roberts and the gorgeous Gurney Eagle replica from the mind of Robert Logan. These guys arent just clever. Theyre very passionate about their projects and probably dont realise the flow on effect of their hard work. Enthusiasm breeds enthusiasm. Congratulations guys. Cant wait to see where to from here. 24.01.2022 Well, Im normally a glass half full sort of bloke, so the panic buying, locking myself away thing isnt really for me. I do understand however, the impact this whole Corona virus phenomenon is going to have on many in small business and particularly those that rely on peoples discretionary spending to make their living. In this case Im talking about sports stadiums, cinemas, pools etc. But I want to talk about the motor sport sector. As we all know, the likelihood of all st...ate and national level race meetings being cancelled is extremely high. And will most likely remain that way until the peak of the virus spread has been reached and the numbers start to go down. So Id ask you to think about the promoters, circuit owners, clubs and associated businesses that derive their income from those events. Whilst were all in lockdown its an ideal time to tinker with your race car and I ask that if youre shopping for your car , before you rush and push the add to cart button on some overseas website, think about those that support you at the track and check if they can help first. And Im not just pushing my own barrow, if you need tyres for something , call the tyre guys that you use at the track also. They dont just sell race tyres. Need your road car serviced? Call your race mechanic to do it if he can. We need to stick together like Aussies are famous for. None of this shit ticket hoarding attitude! Also when everything is back to normal, if the entry fee has increased a little bit, just accept it and enjoy your Motorsport. See more

Another Historic touring car guy has passed away also. Rod Barrett raced a Lotus Cortina in group N for a short time. RIP Rod.
