25.01.2022 Now that breeding season is rolling along nicely, there are a number of people who will have excess roosters, drakes, ganders, quail, etc. We can take these for you if you are having trouble finding a home for them - from chicks to retirees. 19.01.2022 UNWANTED ROOSTERS/DRAKES/GANDERS It's always a problem if you are breeding poultry...too many boys and no-where to re-home them. We can take any unwanted roosters (or any poultry) - whether they were bought as unsexed chicks from us, or just extras you ended up with along the way, or ones that have turned into jerks lol.

18.01.2022 Incubator. Covatutto 120 cabinet. $350. Technically does 120 eggs if u set up trays with the dividers, but i use it like a hex and hand roll...takes about 80 secs to do all 3 trays, and that way can fit heaps more in. Fan is a bit noisy/vibrates but works like a little trooper! Personally I would not hatch in it.... Upgrading to a bigger cabinet. Will be available in around a week. Inspections/enquiries welcome. 16.01.2022 So....not many people will mention this...I wish someone had mentioned it to me when we first started out...would have saved some heartbreak! Pekins...at grower age especially...so from around 5-6 weeks...insist on HUDDLING together to sleep....whether it is winter or the middle of summer. So if there are a few of them huddling in a cosy corner....someone usually gets squished or suffocated! The way around this is to try to ensure there are no solid corners in your pen where ...some can be trapped under a mass of other bodies. Round off your corners with wire or something. Alternatively...make sure there is plenty of airspace between them (or under them) and a solid wall. In this pic...you can see I make use of old bird cage and fence panels... Even if they choose the corner at the base there...the corner allows air flow due to the cage. See more

15.01.2022 RUKA - not looking his stunning best...sunbleached (NOT red leakage) and showing that white, pulletbreeder down he has. Certainly comparable to our other show winning boy but was still in moult so never made it to the show pens. 3..maybe coming up 4 yrs old. Not agressive. Throw me a suggestion..open to reasonable ones.

09.01.2022 Started overall health maintenance for our breeders yesterday in combination with pen re-shuffles. Worming, lice/mite treatment/prevention, nail and beak trims, tag checks, bum trims and bumblefoot check. I only managed to get our pen of "spare" boys done yesterday.....this could b e a loooong process lol.
