22.01.2022 We have more than our fair share of FRNJs in Queensland. They seem to flourish and we can call it free speech being welcomed here, but some of them clearly have no common sense. An enquiry about why Insurance Companies are pulling out of providing insurance cover to the Coal Industry. A Labor MP told the Sydney Morning Herald Insurance is a different matter. We are all paying the price of this government’s bad decisions around climate change and in particular for those climate-affected areas through higher insurance premiums. She is very likely right.

20.01.2022 The devastating blaze in Perth, Western Australia, started on February 01 but spread until it scorched 9,000 hectares and destroyed 71 homes leaving affected residents to face enormous costs. 15.01.2022 Catastrophe data company Perils has finalised its overall loss estimate of several hailstorms that hit the eastern states in January last year, raising the value of claims accepted by insurers to $1.89 billion. The final estimate of the hailstorm catastrophe over three days from January 19-21 is based on detailed loss data from the majority of insurance providers in the Australian market. Perils says the catastrophe and two other similar weather events that later struck Queensland took the combined insured losses from hailstorms last year to more than $3.5 billion.
