24.01.2022 This just in from Melissa Donovan Hello there, I wasnt sure how to post to your page, but wanted to share this and to say thank you for such a wonderful opportunity for the girls. An incredible week for Beverley Prange Dance Centre students Charlotte Donovan & Charlotte Baker at Sydney Dance Company this week. Both girls immersed themselves in contemporary dance, and were fortunate enough to learn technique & creative development, as well as repertoire from the current Artistic Director Director Rafael Bonachela. Heartfelt thanks to the Central Queensland Regional Arts Foundation for the bursaries that have made this whole incredible experience possible

17.01.2022 THERE must be something in the name Charlotte as two Charlottes from Beverley Prange Dance Centre have been accepted for a prestigious dance workshop in Sydney. Charlotte Baker, 15, and Charlotte Donovan, 14, received funding from the Central Queensland Regional Performing Arts Foundation bursary, which they used to apply for Sydney Dance Companys 2020 Summer Contemporary Youth Dance Lab program. The workshop runs for a week at the Ultimo Headquarters. The girls will be imme...rsed in warm-up classes, creative tasks and learning company repertoire. They will also be able to observe company dancers perform in their classes and rehearsals. Beverley Prange Dance Centre principal Madonna Murphy or Miss M is extremely proud of both girls. She said it would be a great opportunity for them to excel and improve in dance. Just the experience of working in somewhere like a Sydney Dance Company, Miss M said. It helps them go to the next level, improves their technique and boosts their confidence getting to go to somewhere like Sydney. The girls will be focusing on the contemporary style of dance. Its another opportunity for them to develop skills in that field of genre, Miss M said. Miss M spoke highly of the bursary and has seen many of her students benefit from the funding. It (the bursary) offers a lot, its quite broad, she said. Its just a matter of applying. Being in a regional area Miss M makes sure her students still have access to opportunities like this workshop. She said you cannot use being in Rockhampton as an excuse. You just have to make sure you take advantage of what there is, she said. (Published Rockhampton Morning Bulletin Wednesday 11 December 2019) STRIKE A POSE: Beverley Prange Dance Centre students Charlotte Baker, 15, and Charlotte Donovan, 14, have been accepted into a dance workshop at Sydney Dance Company in January 2020.

15.01.2022 I wish to advise that given the current travel restrictions and difficulties resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic the CQ Regional Performing Arts Foundation will not be offering its annual bursary program in 2020. Peter Owens Administrator

04.01.2022 From Janelle Westcott Mitchell Westcott enjoyed the week of contemporary dance with Australian Dance Collective (formerly Expressions Dance Company) summer intensive. The opportunity allowed Mitchell to develop a broader understanding of contemporary dance with other dancers from all over Australia. 02.01.2022 A message from Roslyn Kyriazis received a few days ago . . . . Thanks to the generous support of the CQRPAF, Alicia has had a fantastic day in Melbourne, commencing her NIDA short course, The Broadway Musical. She and her classmates analysed the features of a musical, and compared it with other genres of stage entertainment. They then studied a song from the musical Violet, and sang it as an ensemble, with a view to performing it for an audience at the conclusion of the week. They are also working on refining their solo singing. Alicia has met some lovely people, including her very talented director, and is looking forward to tomorrow!
