11.01.2022 Ludde has reported that CQS was struck by a 40 knot squall during the night, which has caused some damage. We got caught in a bad squall, probably 40 knots he told us. He says all the crew are OK, but many of the electronic systems have failed making sailing in the dark difficult. Also the biggest spinnaker has blown out, they have a diesel spill inside the boat, and have broken the top three battens in the mainsail. He concluded, still sailing towards finish at reasonable speed in pouring rain and will assess situation at first light.
