25.01.2022 Queensland Fire and Emergency Services continue to fight a fire at Nerimbera, with seven crews on scene. Heavy machinery is on scene forming firebreaks and water bombing continues. At this stage there is no threat to property.
24.01.2022 The Department of Transport and Main Roads is conducting routine inspections of both the Calliope River Bridge and the Calliope River Anabranch Bridge on Gladstone-Mount Larcom Road. As part of these activities, inspections are being undertaken from 9 November to 16 November and traffic restrictions will apply. On Saturday 14 November and Sunday 15 November one lane will be open in each direction between the hours of 7am - 5pm. On Monday, 16 November, one lane will be open i...n each direction between the hours of 9am - 3pm. Motorists can expect minor delays. The Federal Government funding is a welcomed relief from Anglicare who often don't have somewhere safe to for people to go all of the time. 17.01.2022 Ergon Energy is working in partnership with Livingstone Shire Council to install turtle friendly street lighting along the Zilzie Esplanade. Four street lights along the esplanade have been swapped to amber coloured lighting as part of a trial, which is being supported by Queensland Marine Parks and Wildlife Service and Fitzroy Basin Association volunteers. Investigations indicate the boy (pictured) was last seen at an education facility on Saltwater Creek Road, St Helens on Thursday (October 8) and has not been seen since. Police and the boy’s family hold serious concerns for his welfare due to his young age.... The boy was last seen wearing a red and navy-blue school polo shirt He is described as Caucasian, about 160cm tall with blonde hair and blue eyes. Anyone that see’s this boy or has any information on his whereabouts is urged to call police. 09.01.2022 Just under $11,000 was raised for the Gilliland children in a charity bike ride yesterday. The fundraiser followed the tragic death of their mother, Karen Gilliland, who was allegedly murdered at the hands of domestic violence. Over 200 riders participated in the event. A donation bucket is located at Rocky Harley Davidson for anyone else wanting to contribute to the cause.
