22.01.2022 On this day in 1843: Dr Henry Faulds, who established the uniqueness of fingerprints, was born in Beith, Ayrshire. In 1886 he offered his fingerprinting system ...to Scotland Yard. But Scotland Yard declined the offer, because Faulds did not present evidence proving that fingerprints are unique and durable. He never got the recognition he deserved during his lifetime. See more
