22.01.2022 Hi students! We hope you're all set and ready to go for week 1 of T2/2020, which kicks off tomorrow! Your to-do list this week ...... 1. If you haven't accessed your Moodle page for your Unit(s) yet, please do so. Early Moodle access and keeping up with reading is key to your academic performance ... 2. If you can't access your Moodle page, is it because you haven't yet done your Foundations of Academic Integrity Unit? If so, complete the unit and then step 1 above. 3. Start engaging with your Unit materials on Moodle. 4. If your Unit's Moodle page is equipped with access to Microsoft Teams, access the Teams page for the Unit and say hello to your classmates! :) If you have any last minute starting-block queries, reach out to your lecturer(s) and/or your classmates ... staying connected is the best way to get the very best out of your learning experience :) We wish you an engaging (and fun!) Term 2. Let's make it rock Kind regards, The CQU Law Lecturing Team

02.01.2022 UPDATE 24/8: The ODPP have let us know about some tweaks to the Summer 2020 in response to the ongoing COVID-19 situation. The most important change for right now is this: ‘Due to the current COVID-19 situation there will be limited placements for our Summer 2020 WEPP program. Therefore, preference may be given to Law students in the final stages of their course including PLT students.’ If this is going to affect you, my advice is to remember that while CQU might be new to th...e ODPP WEPP, it is not a new program, and there is no reason why it won’t continue in future years so there is always next year. COVID is creating all sorts of unexpected changes for all of us, and this is another one to add to the list. On the bright side, the ODPP have extended the closing date to Friday 4 September 2020, so you have a bit more time to get your application in. Keep them coming! -------------------------------------------------------------- Looking for hands-on experience of criminal law? Completed at least the first year of your law degree? Then we have great news! We’re pleased to announce that CQUniversity Law students can now apply for the Queensland Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions Work Experience Placement Program (ODPP WEPP). Applications are now open for four-week, full time, unpaid placements with the ODPP this summer. Apply by visiting https://sites.google.com/cqulaw.net/odpp-wepp to access the placement information and schedule and download the Application Form. Make sure to follow the instructions and send your completed application to [email protected] by 11:59pm on Monday 31 August. We look forward to hearing from you!
