16.01.2022 Fill in the blanks in the listening test .... Many IELTS candidates agree that filling in the blanks is one of the trickiest and most challenging question types in the listening test. This type of questions also checks your knowledge of grammar beyond your listening skills. Your answers should be grammatically correct when placed in the given sentences. They usually appear in sections 2 and 4 where you will be listening to talks and monologues. Here is some practical advice o...n how to prepare for this type of questions. Always make sure to read the instructions carefully (We will discuss why it is important to read the instructions in each attempt in a future post) Choose the key words and be aware that some answers come immediately after one another Some of the words you will need for the answers might already exist on the page During the time given to you, make sure that your answers are legible and easy to read and grammatically fit in the sentence. You might hear an adjective but might need to change it to an adverb. Or the answer you might hear might be in singular form but you may need to change it to a plural form. See more

14.01.2022 Here is an excellent sample for a task 1 writing ... You have just moved into a new home and are planning to hold a party. You are worried that the noise may disturb your neighbour. Write a letter to your neighbour. In your letter... introduce yourself describe your plans for the party invite your neighbour to come Write at least 150 words. You do NOT need to write any addresses. Begin your letter as follows: Dear ................. , Dear Mr. Johnson My name is Al and I am your next door neighbour. We met each other on the day that we moved to my apartment. I am going to have a warm up house party on Saturday night and plan to invite a huge crowd of people from my friends and relatives. We are expecting to have the first guest at around 6 PM and will hopefully finish the party by 12 Midnight. Guests will enjoy a blend of Persian and English music and will be served with Iranian traditional saffron rice and chicken stew for dinner. I hope the noise will not be too loud and disturbing. We would like to invite you and your family to our party. I am very confident that my guests will be pleased to meet you and you will meet many interesting and friendly people. I will be happy if you accept our invitation and hope to see you on Saturday. Regards Suri

10.01.2022 Writing an introduction for task 2 essays might sound challenging and sometimes difficult. When preparing for IELTS, we need to know what the purpose of an introduction is and what the examiner wants to see in our introductions. Here are some quick tips followed by a sample topic and an example of a good introduction. The introduction should define what you are going to talk about. Otherwise the examiner cannot decide whether or not you have meaningfully talked about the to...pic. The introduction should show the examiner what you are going to cover while giving some background information helping with better understanding of the topic. Look at this example: In many countries children are engaged in different kinds of paid work. Some people regard this as completely wrong, while others consider it a valuable work experience, important for learning and taking responsibility. What is your opinion? Children are not usually expected to begin working up until a certain age. However, many parents might encourage them to gain some paid work experience while studying and some others might find it inappropriate and harmful to children. I will discuss both views and provide some reasons in support of each.
