25.01.2022 Hi Everyone, unfortunately I need to temporarily suspend new bookings for repairs and I may need to reschedule current bookings I have out to September. You see, I have gosh darn gone and broken a leg which is going to slow me up for a while. (At least I was having fun riding my bike right up to that fateful moment.) The prognosis is as good as it can be at this stage but I do not know when my ability will improve enough to allow me to restart work.... I am sorry for the inconvenience this will cause my current and future clients. I will endeavour to contact affected clients over the next few days. Ride safe, stay upright! Neil. Cracked Carbon

25.01.2022 Cracked Carbon Is Moving! From early May Cracked Carbon will be operating out a of a new purpose built workshop in OHalloran Hill. All the bikes I currently have that will be completed at the new workshop I will deliver for free in the Adelaide metro area. Affected customers will be notified.... There may be a delay for a week while we get settled in but I am still taking repair and painting jobs. If you would like to drop off a frame in this changeover period please contact me first to arrange a place and time. The new facility will help with a faster turnaround for all jobs in the future. 25.01.2022 Cracked Carbon will be closed from the Monday 19th to Monday the 26th December, back on the 27th. Also closed 2nd January. You can catch me any weekday outside of those dates. Thanks for all your enquiries and business this year. Enjoy your holiday riding and take it easy on the roads (at the very least so I can ease back into work in the New Year)

24.01.2022 The custom mountain bike frame building project progress shots. Now all laminated, off the jig and trimmed up. We will save the painting for last after an initial assembly.

24.01.2022 Unless you have already booked a repair with me I can only promise repair completion dates from the 8th May onwards. I will also be out of contact from 4th April until 28th April. All contact during business hours, Mon-Fri 9-5, please.

19.01.2022 Repair and "upgrade"

19.01.2022 Here is another custom scheme recently finished. We had to keep the decals looking "factory" to this 2015 Izalco Max but add more colour for visibility and uniqueness. Gloss decals on matte black. (That is retina burning day-glo yellow if your screen cant show it)

18.01.2022 Some progress pictures, Stripped to bare carbon, 2k primer, metallic colour basecoat, stencils and decals. Stencils CAD and cut in house.

18.01.2022 I am back from the wilderness and straight back into a shed full of bike repairs. Thanks for your patience. Cycling holidays are awesome. (Bikepacking on Old Ghost Road, NZ, Photo credit Resonate Productions. + Organically grown carbon pedal repairs, anywhere, anytime)

17.01.2022 Update: It looks as though everything is working again. But if you have any issues contacting me please let me know. ------------------------------------------------------ In the process of attempting to repair my broken website I may have broken my email. (The inside of the internet is voodoo, dont mess around with it) My apologies if your emails to me bounce today. The problem should be fixed soon by an actual professional. Ill stick to fixing frames. In the meantime I can take your call on 0406 637 095.

15.01.2022 The books are now full for June and most of July 2019. The earliest I can have new work completed is 26th July (2 spots left). Seriously, my workload would be a whole lot less if people didnt carry their bikes on the roof of their cars. Decapitation aint pretty.

14.01.2022 Trying our hand again at some custom frame building. We have been working very closely with the designer of the suspension system of this mountain bike to complete the CAD modelling and to construct this one off proof-of-concept. This is the foam former. Rear triangle and carbon laminate to come.

14.01.2022 Before/After. R5 "upgrade" with Di2 conversion

14.01.2022 Freshened rims and decals

10.01.2022 Timeline of a severe damage repair. An unfortunate handling mishap caused the aluminium seat post of this near new Specialized Stumpjumper break inside the frame, damaging the carbon. We had to cut open the break to remove the last bits of the seat post before reconstructing the area with new carbon sleeve and finishing with original paint scheme.

09.01.2022 Yes, we paint steel frames too.

09.01.2022 Long overdue update. But we certainly havent been slacking on the repairs and painting. Here is a unique paint job we did for a recent customer who had very specific requirements for his brand new frame.

07.01.2022 Crunchy! Alloy corrosion in carbon. Keep the inside of your bike dry.

07.01.2022 Good friend, bike mechanic and Orbea dealer Velo Mech has this brand new Rallon for sale. If you are interested hit him up.

06.01.2022 Cracked Carbon is taking short break from today ,Monday 30th until Tuesday 8th October. All enquiries will be responded to from the 8th. Thankyou!

06.01.2022 I am now fully booked for repairs until the new year. I am currently taking bookings for repairs finished by the 3rd January and I expect January and February to fill it up fast. I am also no longer taking frames for full paint respray until further notice to concentrate solely on repairs (all repairs are still painted, however). My apologies if this causes disappointment. My aim is to get as many riders back on their bikes as quickly as I can but there is only so much I can ...get done in a week. If you find yourself with a damaged bike first contact your local bike shop and talk about possible warranty or crash replacement programs. Or if the damage is accidental please talk to your insurance company.

05.01.2022 Repaired and painted. Bringing new life to old frames.

05.01.2022 Thank you to all who have used my services in 2018. I am off on a holiday with the family to a remote piece of coastline (hopefully without phone reception). I will be returning 2nd January to crack on with the TDU broken bike onslaught. Have a great holiday period. Stay Upright on the trails, Ride Aware on the road, and dont transport your bike on the roof of your car. Cheers!

05.01.2022 Specialized, the most common custom painted frames I do. #Etap converted.

04.01.2022 Meet the inventor of Vasttech Suspension, Tim Southall. One very happy client with his freshly painted frame. This is the frame that we built for Tim to test his new patented suspension concept.

04.01.2022 COVID-19 and CrackedCarbon. I might not be hoarding all the toilet paper but I did make arrangements to work from home 4 years ago. So here I am still aiming to be Business As Usual* Having said that we all need to take social distancing seriously and there are a few things I will require from visiting clients.... -Your bike must be delivered freshly cleaned (take care cleaning around splintery carbon) -I can no longer do on the spot damage inspections. These will now be 24hr turnaround for pickup. -Card or pre-arranged EFT payments only. No cash payments, sorry. -1.5m minimum social distance at all times *Obviously the situation is moving fast and other small businesses I need for supply are becoming impacted. While Ill endeavour to continue working at my normal managed workload I may have to postpone some future repair bookings due to changing circumstances beyond my control. In any case I will notify on this page and with bookings personally.

03.01.2022 Not your normal S3. Aero mods and custom paint. #baaw

03.01.2022 "When it rains it pours". I have 2 places available for repairs completed by the 4th December and 4 places available for repairs completed by the 11th December. Next available places after that are in January 2021.

02.01.2022 Cracked Carbon is taking a well earned holiday from tomorrow, 6th April, until the 1st May. All correspondence, future repairs and painting will be addressed from then. Thanks for your patience. Ride safe!

02.01.2022 For the past couple of weeks I have slowly approached the backlog of work I had in the workshop before my accident. The good news is that my mobility is improving quite quickly and getting stuff complete has become easier. I still have about a months worth of repairs to get through before I can be confident of taking bookings for new work. If you had a booking for repair in July and August please get in touch if you haven't already. I can now start your repairs. If you have a new enquiry, I can give you a quote for the repair and inspect frames but please be aware that I may not be able to start your repair until October.

02.01.2022 Woops. It looks like the crackedcarbon.com.au webpage has gone AWOL. But thats not necessarily a bad thing, it needed updating. Standby for a refreshed page in the near future. The best way to contact me is: phone: 0406637095 ... email: [email protected] Contact hours are 9-5pm weekdays. Drop ins and collection by appointment.
