On behalf of our current and past Club members our sincere condolences go to Francesca, Nelson, Paula and Shannon and their families. Rex gave himself entirely and completely to his swimmers and friends not only on the Northwest Coast of Tasmania but throughout Australia and of course across the ditch in New Zeala...nd. Rex will continued to be remembered, respected and spoken about on pool deck for all those who met him. His Funeral service will be held this Tuesday 22nd September at Vincent Funeral Services in Forbes St at 3pm.

23.01.2022 VALE REX HILL Swimming Tasmania offers its deepest condolences to the family and friends of former coach and Life Member, Rex Hill, who passed away last week. W...ith over 40 years in the sport, Rex's coaching career commenced in New Zealand, and continued in Tasmania from the 1986/87 season when he moved to the Devonport City club (now Cradle Coast). In 2016 he was awarded Life Membership of Swimming Tasmania in recognition of his outstanding service to the swimming community in general and, in particular, to that of the North-West Coast through his role as coach and mentor. Rex was the first person from the North-West Coast and only the third coach to receive this honour. At State level Rex was actively involved in the Tasmanian development pathway program, and coached past State teams. He attended coaching camps at the Australian Institute of Sport and Olympic Sprint Camps to further his knowledge and was an accredited National Tutor Coach. During his long coaching career Rex's name became synonymous with all aspects of swimming, from learn-to-swim to State and National competition. The funeral service for Rex will be live streamed tomorrow at 3pm AEST. For anyone who would like to watch, please join the Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/rexhillfuneral Rex is pictured below receiving his Life Member award from Swimming Tasmania President Susan Cure OAM.

16.01.2022 Hi Families, We hope you had a good school holiday break and are as enthusiastic about returning to the pool as we are? We have been reminded from Splash centre management that their guidelines for supervision of children at the pool is as follows:... Children aged <10 * Must be supervised by not only the coach but also the parent/guardian Children 11 & 12 * Coach can be the guardian and takes full responsibility for swimmers during the duration of their lesson time. Children 11 & 12 are unable to enter pool deck without the Coach being on pool deck. Swimmers can wait in Foyer for coach to arrive. Children 13+ * Are allowed to be in center on their own without a guardian. These guidelines have been referenced from; https://www.royallifesaving.com.au//keep-watch-at-public-p
