25.01.2022 To all our past, present and future guests; Our management team has been closely following the development of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation over recent days. At Cradle Mountain Highlanders we offer secluded self-contained accommodation with very minimal close contact between guests and staff. Our 16 cabins are spread out across our 10 acre property, with total visitor numbers generally less than 50 at this stage in the season. The health and safety of our guests an...d staff will always be our top priority. Our housekeepers already use disinfectant sprays and wipes as part of their routine cleaning procedures, and will be applying these products to all surfaces, including door knobs and hand rails. All guests are encouraged to practise good hand and cough hygiene and to read the government department of health guidelines for hotel guests. Copies of these guidelines have been placed in all our cabins and can also be viewed (https://www.health.gov.au//coronavirus-covid-19-informatio). If you are feeling fine, and have not had recent contact with anyone showing symptoms of the virus, we encourage you to come and stay with us. With wide open spaces, unlimited fresh air and reduced visitor numbers, there is no better time or place to engage in social distancing than right now, here at beautiful Cradle Mountain. See more

21.01.2022 Covid 19 has given us a unique opportunity to rejuvenate our cabins. We have polished all our hardwood floorboards and re-varnished the cork tiles in the bathrooms. Managers and housekeepers have been busy scrubbing and re-oiling our macrocapa timber walls. Tung oil has brought out a nice woody smell in the cabins. The work never stops at Highlanders.

03.01.2022 Last week Carrol celebrated 10 years at Highlanders. Rain or shine, snow or sleet, she has been the most reliable hard working and positive team member at Highlanders. She has set and met the benchmark for our high standards in house keeping. We are all so proud of her and look forward to working with her for another 10 years. Congratulations Carrol, Well Done. #cradlemountainhighlanders #cradlemountainhighlandercottages

02.01.2022 Good morning! This post is to wave good bye to our Highlanders family, guests and friends who have supported us over the last 4 years. I have posted a few photos from our time here, the first being a wombat Joey waving from the pouch Brad and Lisa and Harry the Labrador are leaving Highlanders today for new adventures in life, but we are sad to say goodbye. Thank you to our special hardworking crew who have become more than workmates...and we now call friends. Brendan,... you have been so good to us And to Kim and Kate, thank you for having us. We sure are gonna miss you lot! And...to the guests we met once, or many times over our 4 years...its been awesome to meet you and to hear how much you enjoy making yourself at home at Highlanders. Its been a wonderful adventure living and working here - what a ride. We have learned, laughed, cried, sweated and froze and always did our best to look after this place, and our team, to provide great service and to foster awareness and love for this most gorgeous part of the universe and its creatures. I hope you have enjoyed my posts from around Highlanders, and the National Park. Tread lightly and remember, There is no such thing as bad weather, just bad choice of clothing. #cradlehighlanders #itsniceuphere #byeeeeeee
