24.01.2022 The official dedication of the new Cradock War Memorial combined with the 100 anniversary of WW1 Armitice was held today with around a 100 locals attending. Great community project, and thanks goes to the Cradock Heritage Group and Maurie Burke in particular.

21.01.2022 As promised here are some photos from today's Cradock working bee. The first sign shelter is up and settling into it's new concrete boots at the cemetery. The sign will follow once ready. The town shelter and sign will go up soon too. After 4 hours of working out in the freezing cold on this one structure we called it a day and enjoyed some well earned food and drinks around a beautiful fire.... Thanks everyone.

20.01.2022 South western corner looking toward Black Jack. Ruddocks and James Cousin in the background. Lots of unmarked graves in this area.

18.01.2022 Hello everyone, You will have noticed a change in name for our page. We are now developing our page as a whole town page. The Cradock Community will soon be able to reveal a Historical Trail for visitors to follow. Visitors will be able to walk the town trail using a brochure that provides relevant information at each stone marker.... I will post on this progress this Sunday following our working bee. New signage for the town and cemetery is also nearing completion and we cannot wait to see it up and displayed. Stay tuned for updates from our publican concerning his development plans for the Cradock Hotel. Very exciting. Please like and share our page, and help us spread the word about our special little place.

15.01.2022 Many thanks to Loretta for sending us this historic photo. It depicts the laying of the foundation stone November 1924 for Cradock's Methodist Church. Minister Guthrie Hutchinson, Mr Ruddock and ? Moyses. We have begun a community collection of historical photos through the research many locals have been doing. If you feel you have some photos that could contribute to the collection please let me know through messenger. Our Township sign and Cemetery sign are being printed this week and some hardworking community members are aiming to get them up before the Remembrance Day commemorations on Sunday.

06.01.2022 Here is a list of residents we have so far. There are another 18 or so unmarked graves we are attempting to name as well. If you know or think someone else might know about any of these people and their back stories please message our facebook page.

03.01.2022 Assuming Benjamin and John were brothers and they buried their wives here together...I really hope the girls got on.

03.01.2022 Something I'm working on for signage. It is just in a Word doc. at the moment. In need of decent photos of the three Cradock churches; St. John Anglican Church (not standing anymore), St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Uniting Church (formally Methodist Church). Also trying to find out when the cemetery was opened and closed.... Thinking about putting a QR Code on the sign so visitors can scan with their phones or ipads and bring up extendend information on residents and other linked history. Is this still relevant tech or getting a bit 'old hat'? Any suggestions?
