04.01.2022 Solar powered water fountain. Very way to make. All items can be purchased from most hardware stores. Items in this fountain are: 2 garden pots of 2 differ sizes in your colour of choice( size will depend on how big you want the fountain- this one has a large 3 litre pot and a small 1 litre pot.) 1-2 bags of river stones in your choice of colour ( bag numbers will depend on size of stones and size of pots) 1 solar powered in water pump ( the pump I have used is the smalles...t solar pump on the market with a water flow adjuster and a minimum water depth of 5 cm to which the pump has automatic shut off) Optional-Old car rim( mine is on a Holden commodore VZ rim to give the height that I wanted. I then used potting mix to assist in planting succulents around the base to give me the greenery to break up all the white in my memorial garden) Instructions- plug hole in the bottom of the large pot to make it water proof. Up to you how you choose to do this- I had a plug made to fit the hole. Place a thin layer of stones in the bottom of you large pot and place the water pump where you want it. This will depend on where you want to place the top pot. If you want the top pot off centre like I have, the pump needs to be placed to the back of the pot. Fit all connections to the pump and fill with the pot with stones until desired height is reached. Place the small pot on top and thread the pump fittings through the hole in the bottom of the pot. Make sure there is a tight fit. If the fitting s are loose, put a small bead of waterproof silicone around the fittings to seal the pot and keep the fittings in place. Wait for sealant to dry. One fittings are in place and sealer is dry, fill top pot with stones, keeping the the fittings top free. This is where you get to do a test run! Fill withhold and bottom pots with water and place solar panel in the sun. When water starts to pump, check the flow of water. If too strong or too weak, you need to adjust the flow adjuster on the pump. Remove the top pot and turn the adjuster until the correct flow is achieved. Replace the top pot and secure the cord to the solar panel so that it cannot be pulled. Enjoy!
