Working with Hiromi Tango, emerging artist Connor Obrien (who is currently undertaking a 2 week mentorship with Craig) and the local community, Craig has documented locals as they explain what home means to them. These videos are then projected onto a screen made of materials and items imbued with meaning and donated by the community. This beautiful, moving and eclectic project will be displayed in the old Capels shop in the main street of Winton from 1pm - 8pm til Saturday.

18.01.2022 Unfortunately last week Craig injured his back and is taking time out of the tour to recover. Very regrettably this means the Alice Springs residency has been cancelled. The good news is Craig is aiming to commence the tour again in Winton, Qld early June, and undertake the Alice Springs residency next year. We are very sorry for this change of plans, but wish Craig all the best with his speedy recover!

07.01.2022 Thank you Winton! After three productive and rewarding weeks, the Winton residency has concluded. Our sincere thanks go out to the Winton community for embracing the project and making it such a success. Also to Jan Brown from the Outback Regional Gallery for all her wonderful help, and to Connor Obrien who undertook a 2 week residency with Craig assisting with the projects developed and displayed.

07.01.2022 Digital Odyssey has officially started in Winton! Working in partnership with the Outback Regional Gallery part of the Waltzing Matilda Centre, Craig has set up in Capels, a great old shop in the main st of Winton. Here he will be presenting the 2008 artwork Incursion - large psychedelic vines creeping up the windows! Craig will also be working with partner Hirmoi Tango and member of the local community on the second installment of the HOME project. Keep tuned for photos and updates!

04.01.2022 Images of students who participated in the 1 day Craig Walsh Workshop in Cairns. Students came from all around the Cairns region, who are all part of the visual art and media group REACH (Regional Excellence in Arts and Culture Hubs).

03.01.2022 Incursion was first presented in Toronto, Canada in 2007. In Incursion, an empty restaurant with tables and chairs slowly fills with water, eventually becoming occupied by large Barramundi and Crayfish who make the space their own. Craig modified the work for Winton, wowing audiences and even causing a few people to believe the old shop was actually filling with water!
