07.01.2022 Not Long into 2021 Can you believe it? ** Already counselled a friend of mine who lost her friend, a respected father to suicide. Why????... Couldn't overcome their mask and yes I say mask of not knowing how to reach out and ask for help. 2021. Asking for help particularly during a crisis is a surreal challenge that can have devastating effects. It's also a two-sided situation. As a man who still struggles at times to do this very action its also up to those around to learn how to read signs, language and body language. And persist even when the answer is no. This episode Craig dives deep into why asking for help is still a struggle even if not harder and surroundings can play a pivotal role in support. Prevention is the key to saving a statistic. 10 men a day commit suicide. The next stat maybe someone you know and or love. Journey on... 04.01.2022 Relapse Let's have a conversation about it. The journey to healing is never a straight journey to recovery. There's always going to be ups and downs, circles, backwards, forwards, u-turns. If anybody does think that the journey is a straight line they are wishing or have not lived as of yet.... Behaviours like addictions follow similar if not identical behaviour patterns. There's always that temptation to fall back onto old habits or get caught up in old environments. Let us dive deep on this one. Not focus on addiction but actual behaviour. Inmates out of prison, those on probation/Parole orders and even good behaviour bonds pose a great risk to reoffending. 49 to 71 per cent reincarceration between Australia, NZ, Britain and the US because why? You guessed it. Relapse in behaviour. Lack of emotional support/accountability is the cause. Let's dive deep on this episode as I have experienced relapse myself and gone through the system twice for a similar but not the same case.
