24.01.2022 A great message!

24.01.2022 Our new play space is nearly complete... just waiting for some of the ropes and nets to arrive! How exciting for the learning and adventures that are to come in this space!

23.01.2022 Is your child jumping up and down to start Kindy next year? Come in and visit us at Craigmore Kindergarten

23.01.2022 Today the Premier announced a 6 day statewide lockdown starting at midnight tonight (Wednesday 18 November) through to midnight Tuesday 24 November. Only the children of essential workers and vulnerable children will be able to attend school or preschool / child care. A skeleton staff will provide supervision but not a learning program for the remainder of this week. If your child needs to attend, we will be here for them.... All students have been asked to take home school laptops/devices, books and anything they need to continue their learning from home. More information on learning programs will be provided early next week, as we work our way through the new COVID-19 Directions. All South Australians are making sacrifices to ensure our community remains as safe as possible. We appreciate that this is a significant undertaking for you and your family. Your child’s teacher, our support staff and I are here to support you where we can. Keep safe, Anna McGovern Director

22.01.2022 Some entertainment for the children during lockdown ... I have a feeling many parents will enjoy this too!

20.01.2022 Some of the learning spaces that have been tweaked to extend upon the children’s ideas and theories. They reflect opportunities to deepen children’s wellbeing, friendships, curiosities and questions

18.01.2022 Today a new machine arrived at Kindy... it helped us tinker and explore cause and effect as we tried and tested what the different knobs and levers did. We had to use our coordination skills to move the fabric through as we spin the wheel around! Some of us designed outfits and drew plans for our sewing... Lots of imagination and investigation going on at Kindy today!

18.01.2022 To any of our Kindy families, especially those staying home during this unusual times, dont forget to drop in and pick up a little learning pack that our educators have made to help you support your childs learning while at home. We will also be posting ideas for playful learning on our Facebook page during the Term break

17.01.2022 The Very Hungry Caterpillar was our Term 1 reading group book. This clip has the author reading the book to us! We have been exploring being authors through our bookmaking and everyday reading. If youre looking for something to do today, perhaps you could listen to Eric read his book and ask your child some questions about what an author is. They could use the blank books in their pack to be an author today and make a book? Feel free to post any photos of books your child creates over the coming weeks, we miss seeing them everyday!

17.01.2022 Our educators will be on site on Wednesday 20th, Thursday 21st January and Friday 22nd January to respond to any enquries. We look forward to seeing our 2021 children for their first day on Wednesday 27th - Thursday 28th (Group 2) and Friday morning 8:45-11:45 (Group 1)

16.01.2022 At Craigmore we believe children learn best through play. We strive to make our learning environments reflect this, through intentional tweaking of our play spaces based on the children interest and abilities. Here are some of our recent learning spaces...

16.01.2022 Today Riley shared his knowledge of sharks with us through the art of bookmaking! He explored detail as he drew the different sharks, adding bumpy writing for his words and inspiring others to become authors too! Throughout the day he revisited his book, adding more pages as he grew in his understanding about how information books create meaning for the reader.

14.01.2022 We are so excited to meet our 2021 learners! Here are some of the spaces we have created to inspire, excite and provoke wonder in the children.

13.01.2022 After a bee landed on Hunter’s wet hand yesterday looking for a drink, we decided to make a ‘Bee Pool’ so that they could have somewhere nice and safe to drink at Kindy. Hunter and Amelia made plans for the creation of our bee pool. Adding big and small rocks for the bees to land on, so that their wings don’t get wet. At group time we each got to put one rock in to form our pool. After filling it with shallow water Sienna suggested we put it outside near the flowers . It was beautiful how caring and respectful our learners are being with the Kindy creatures!

13.01.2022 Term 4 Library dates

13.01.2022 Today, inspired by having our Kindy photos taken, we became photographers! We took snaps of the things around us and then pretended to print the photos by drawing carefully, realistically and with considered detail . We then framed out photos and put them on our photography wall.

13.01.2022 We will be creating a list of places that will be offering OSHC and vacation care services to children of essential workers during the pupil free days and holidays and share it on our page in the coming days. we can get through this together!

12.01.2022 A reminder that Group 2 have a pupil free day next ThursdayA reminder that Group 2 have a pupil free day next Thursday

12.01.2022 Today some children designed new slippery dips! Ours is currently closed off and on the mend and so we put our imaginations to the test about how to improve it! Here are some of our plans: So they can get up to the slide, they are gonna do rock climbing to get up! Its got three rocks, this is a rope that you climb up to get to the rocks... then you just jump to the slide, is this gonna be tricky!?! ... Maybe we can make a tunnel, then they will go through this and then they will find the slide! If 2 people want to go down at the same time they can cos theres 2 ladders! Theres a line so no one goes on the slide first!

10.01.2022 Below is a letter from the Department for education in regards to the new No Jab No Play legislation that is coming into place August 2020 please read as it may affect your childs enrolment both current and future in early childhood settings. Feel free to call us if you need further information or follow the links at the bottom of the letter. Notice to parents/caregivers implementation 7 August 2020... The early childhood services and immunisation requirements legislation (No Jab, No Play) is an amendment to the South Australian Public Health Act 2011. This new law comes into effect on 7 August 2020. It means that in order for a child to attend an early childhood service after that date they must have all age-appropriate vaccines as set out in the National Immunisation Program (www.sahealth.sa.gov.au/immunisation) Families will need to provide the following information to their early childhood service as soon as possible: a copy of your childs current immunisation record; or evidence that your child has an approved exemption; or evidence that your child is on a catch up schedule. If you have already provided these records you do not need to provide another copy. We are required to keep a copy of these records while your child is enrolled in an early childhood service so that the Chief Public Health Officer has them to hand in order to protect susceptible children in the event of any type of vaccine preventable outbreak. To support you with these changes please find attached Frequently Asked Questions for parents and carers. 06.01.2022 This week we made some promises to the Kaurna people, we promised to look after the land, the plants, the animals and the people too. We looked at some photos from a couple of years ago when a friendly creature called Uncle Kuula visited Bush Kindy. We investigated the trees and noticed marks that could have been made by his claws! Some of us cleaned up Bush Kindy in the hopes of enticing him back, others wrote notes or created delicious plates of koala food and left them near the trees.
