24.01.2022 Looking forward to getting hold of this tome of songs and stories from one of my favourite Australian artists, the awesome Jeff Lang. Hope to be witnessing a show again one day soon too! Play on!
24.01.2022 A recent recording of original song 'Hey River' featuring @Lazy Jim (violin, vocals) and Jed Wesley-Smith. Thanks to Alice Wesley Smith for the video! Hope you enjoy and the river is flowing strong for you.
20.01.2022 Hi folks, the weather has turned a bit cold here, time for some bluegrass to stoke the fire and keep you moving. Hope you enjoy this tune by Gillian Welch, who taps into a rich history of Americana artists doing versions, renditions and reimaginings of the 'Six White Horses' idiom. Recorded here with the Peppercorns in March of this year in Redfern. Lazy Jim Jed Wesley-Smith
20.01.2022 James Scott was born to former slaves in the late 19th century and worked in a music shop, eventually finding some recognition for his beautiful piano rags after tracking down his idol Scott Joplin and requesting that he listen to some of the pieces. I have a soft spot for rags, and although they tend to sound a bit lighter when played on guitar, I've enjoyed working this one out. Thanks to Alan Jaffe for the arrangement. Hope you enjoy! https://youtu.be/zjXhFH97yGw

17.01.2022 An appeal to the NSW government for urgent action to save the live music stages that are so central to our communities. Please sign!!
16.01.2022 Bésame Mucho, by Consuelo Velazquez (1940) performed here by the Peppercorns. Featuring Lara Norman (vocals, violin), Craig Sinclair (guitar, vocals) and Jed Wesley-Smith (bass). Recorded March 15th 2020 with video recording courtesy of Alice Wesley-Smith
12.01.2022 Raising voices together in song to boost morale through Italy's nationwide lockdown.
11.01.2022 I found this sweet little guitar rag in a book of Scott Joplin and James Scott tunes, mostly originally piano pieces. This one is written and arranged by Allan Jaffe. On the back of the book it says "Parts not sold separately"... I think that means that after you buy it you still have to sit down and learn the tunes? ... I'll get back to you on that :) In the meantime hope you enjoy... Rod Vervest long distance duet??
09.01.2022 Hey folks hope you're well. If you're so inclined, come join Lazy Jim and I for a few tunes and a bit of stuck at home looniness... - live stream show today 3pm (AEST) for half hour or so. 07.01.2022 Hi folks, Well, well big times indeed. The COVID-19 pandemic affects everyone, and you sure don't need to be overloaded with my story of woe as well! But suffice to say that a number of shows planned for March, April and May have unfortunately had to be cancelled over the last week. The details of these dates, and any possible rescheduled shows will be updated at www.craigsinclair.com.au/shows. This is obviously a drag, but I have to say I am very lucky to still be in stable ...employment. The broader music and performing arts industry has been heavily impacted by venue closures and event cancellations. If you want to show some support for those musicians and other arts industry workers who depend on their performance incomes, you can visit www.supportact.org.au to donate. If you have lost income due to these cancellations, please report this at www.ilostmygig.net.au, so the government is fully aware of the economic contribution this industry makes, and the real impact on performers, technicians, managers etc. Well anyway, now for the more fun stuff. The Peppercorns were lucky to recently spend some time at 107 Redfern Projects, recording a few tracks in a nice little inner city space. Besame Mucho is one of those classic tunes that awakens the passionate Spaniard in all of us. It translates literally as 'many kisses', and while we can't really deliver those to you in person at the moment, we are more than happy to oblige on a virtual basis. With thanks to Alice Wesley Smith for the video and sweet playing from Lazy Jim and Jed Wesley-Smith. Hope you enjoy the video, please share it around if you wish and stay tuned for more tracks in coming weeks. Wishing you lots of love, peace and music in these interesting times. Ciao bella!
04.01.2022 The sun is starting to show itself more often where I am these days, which is very welcome! This recent song feels like a bit of a yearning for the big skies and open spaces of Australia. For me that connection and calling comes particularly from the South Coast and Western Desert regions of Western Australia, lands of the Wongutha and Noongar peoples. Dedicated to anyone else who has been feeling the same way recently! The video and photo backdrops are from a collection of ...shots I've picked up over my travels, mainly in the Western Desert lands. The song was recorded in a quiet spot on the Central Coast of New South Wales in August 2020. The live music scene is going to be pretty low key for the coming months around Sydney it seems, so I'm hoping to fill the void and offer some music when I can via these youtube clips. Please click through and subscribe to the youtube channel if you'd like to see more! It's all free content. Cheers folks! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMVz0r-7ZjUgTMUu86P_yeQ
