25.01.2022 With consideration to the ongoing situation, the Cranbourne Lions Concert Band have suspended rehearsals effective immediately. In addition, we are also postponing our regular band festival normally held in May until hopefully later in the year. We hope that all of our band members and supporters continue to be safe and we look forward to resuming normal activities once this situation is resolved.

23.01.2022 In our next episode we hear from our youngest member, 9 year old Landon, who talks about why it’s good for kids to join their local band.

22.01.2022 Our third episode in this series introduces us to Leanne, someone who had not played music in many years before joining the band. Watch to learn about her journey and why joining a community band is the perfect way to get back into music.

20.01.2022 Thank you so much to everyone that has supported us on Facebook - it means a LOT to us!

20.01.2022 When the conductor wants to have a go at drums because they look like fun....this just confirms our general rule: EVERYONE wants to be a percussionist!!

20.01.2022 Not only have we recently welcomed a new Musical Director, but we have also welcomed TWO new Assistant Musical Directors. This photo is Joon’s first time conducting the band. He will conduct this fun piece at the Berwick Show. Our other Assistant Musical Director is Ally, and she will also conduct us for a piece soon after the Berwick Show. We love that we are able to support developing musicians by providing them with this opportunity. #cranbourne #cranbournelionsconcertband #concertband #windensemble #woodwind #brassinstrument #woodwindinstrument #instrument #music #communityband #trumpet #sax #saxophone #flute #euphonium #tuba #trombone #bassoon #conductor #clarinet #musicaldirector #cityofcasey #lynbrook #hamptonpark #lyndhurst #kooweerup #narrewarren #berwick #victoria

18.01.2022 A huge congratulations to our Musical Director, Christopher McLeod and his wife Rachael on the safe delivery of their son Joseph Thomas Patrick Benedict McLeod, born two weeks ago today. We especially love it when he gets to crash our band zoom calls. We can’t wait to meet you in person and welcome you to our band Joseph!

18.01.2022 What a great way to start the year as our brand new Musical Director, Christopher McLeod, finally took us for his first full rehearsal! We have so many exciting things planned for this year - watch this space!

11.01.2022 We are so proud of our youngest band members Jamie and Landon for commemorating ANZAC Day from their driveway this morning. 11 year old Jamie did a fantastic job of the Last Post, and we know that this is just the beginning of his ANZAC Day bugle calls for many years to come.

11.01.2022 In the second of our Meet the Band series we ask our longest serving member, Max, about some of his experiences in the band. He has some great advice on why being in community bands is a great lifelong activity, and you’ll see why he’s always a fun character to have in the band!

10.01.2022 Our next performance from the online trivia night features our Assistant MD, Ally Collingwood as she performs the theme song from Jurassic Park. https://youtu.be/HCtFYGo_wC4

We’ll also have two vocalists at the performance. We’re on at 2:35pm-3:30pm on the main stage (near the food court) on Sunday. See you at the show!

07.01.2022 The videos from our online trivia night are now available to watch on YouTube! 06.01.2022 What does your band do to keep in touch with each other during the lock down? We have weekly Zoom calls and tonight we had our first live game of Kahoot, with a quiz on musical instruments and theory prepared our Musical Director, Chris. It was a close game with Maddie leading the whole way through until Craig and The Brad swooped in on the last question and knocked her to 3rd. Bring on next week!

06.01.2022 Trivia time again. The answer to the last question was that MASH ran for one season more than the Waltons. Do you know the answer to this one? Don't miss the opportunity to join us on October 10 for our entertaining Online Trivia event. ... https://www.facebook.com/events/3351797051569737

06.01.2022 The weather was a little warm but that didn’t stop us from having a great time performing at the Berwick Show. This marked our first performance with our new Musical Director, Christopher McLeod. We played a selection of well known popular music and also featured two vocalists, Brad Potenzi and Chantelle Riordan. A great day! @ Akoonah Park

03.01.2022 Special thanks to @ingridjmartin / @conductingartistry for delivering a masterclass for us last night! It was really fascinating learning how to break down the score and think about what feelings are being conveyed in different sections of the music. A great session!

02.01.2022 This is the second of our online trivia night videos, this time featuring our Musical Director, Christopher McLeod, on piano and his wife Rachael on vocals. They are performing Make You Feel My Love. https://youtu.be/VNoR5FmZv-M

02.01.2022 We had our first band catch up on Zoom tonight! It was so great to catch up with them

01.01.2022 Special thanks to our tuba player Ken for also sharing this ANZAC Day video with us. We didn’t know he had a trombone, so it was great he was able to dust it off and use it to play the Last Post for his neighbourhood this morning.
