21.01.2022 Just back from a fantastic 4 day work trip covering; Whittlesea, Macedon, Melton, and Ballarat. It was so wonderful to see everyone and their horses. ... I finished around 3pm yesterday and decided to take a detour to the beautiful pocket of paradise that is Werribee Gorge National Park. This country is the home of the Wadawurrung and Dja Dja Wurrung peoples; but I unfortunately do not know their dreaming story of this amazing place... I first visited the gorge around 8 years ago and was just fascinated by the geological history (a different dreaming)... rock formations spanning from 3 - 280 million years ago, as far back as the Ordovician and Devonian periods... The rocks here are steeped in wisdom and timelessness. To get there, you turn off the busy freeway on the way to Ballan, and step down into a place that lets you forget about the 3-D world of time, appointments, and things... The Gorge invites you take a deep breath and remember who you are and what you are connected to. Nature. Always. The photos are interesting .... there are faces hidden in the rocks .. maybe from the dreaming of the Wadawarrung .. And there are patterns and curves from the immense forces that shaped the landscape .. maybe from the dreaming of Geology ...

19.01.2022 A lovely description of Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy: "BDCST is a particular paradigm of work in the cranial field...In this approach, the practitioner's primary orientation is to the forces at work in and around the system of the horse, or human, and to the Dynamic Stillness from which they emerge....." This is an age old concept, drawing from the laws of Nature, Shamanism... .. but it also has its roots in the work of a particular Osteopath, Dr William Garner Sutherland.... "Over the course of his career, Sutherland shifted from a predominantly biomechanical view to one that appreciates the interplay of the primary forces at work in the human system." "It is seen that creative forces underlie and precede genetics and are an expression of the most fundamental ordering matrix of life itself." Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is a viewpoint, that acknowledges the following: That life is a Mystery; That all forces and forms originate in the Infinite present; That healing is a function of the forces at work in and around the system of the sentient being; That healing can only occur in the present moment of time; (Adapted from Foundations in Craniosacral Biodynamics, F. Sills, 2011).
18.01.2022 Adding some varnish to some skulls and vertebrae.... The old horse skull who has been with me since 2011... And Kangaroo skull and vertebrae, which were dried and bleached from the sun near the Northern Grampians.... Found along a long stretch of road that is just lethal for wildlife.... we really need wildlife bridges or crossings... (Yes, I was that strange person collecting dried bones from the side of the road because I find sutures and the formation of the skull and vert...ebrae fascinating.... ) See more
14.01.2022 Dr. James Jealous, developer of Biodynamic Osteopathy passed away today leaving a great legacy and profound inspiration for practitioners who wish to dig deeper. Rest in stillness and the big Health!
13.01.2022 MRI scan of a person moving their eyes back and forth. Amazing how much the optic nerves move around inside the skull! https://imgur.com/a/BBgkQ

08.01.2022 A lovely post from Shea Stewart (an excellent CST practitioner and Saddlefitter based in the USA). www.equinebalance.net This mare presented with Headshaking. In just one session, this mare's body was able to soften and re-orient to her midline. Thank you Shea for your permission to share this. ... "Sometimes trying to figure out why a horse is head shaking can be like falling down a rabbit hole. Some horses have an obvious (to me) head trauma and craniosacral literally fixes it in a few sessions. Some become headshakers because they have one of the muscle diseases and diet is not balanced. Some just are out of whack nutritionally and are suffering from a negative nitrogen, or potassium flood. Some have chronic inflammation, some have jacked up teeth, or have been over power floated with one side taken down much lower than the other. Some have a parasite over load, some have all of the above! I have put my hands on more than I can count. This mare had masseters that felt like cement, and a muscle spasming in the throat latch area, and was also very sore in her throat latch. She also looked like there was fluid build up behind the eyes as they seemed puffy right under the eyes. I am not sure why the headshaking, but I do know there is something causing this body to be tight, and the head shaking is very dangerous. Only 1 craniosacral treatment so far, but the posture change was really cool. Forces within the body's energy field can have a very strong pull that disorients the body away from the midline. I wish this therapy was part of our health care system like it is in Europe. Believe it or not, the first pic was this horse's relaxed stance! Barely even looks like the same body. As a saddle fitter, one thing to consider is when the back is in a dysfunctional state and if there is potential for change. This example of the posture change below is why saddle fitting is also so complex. Which back does one try to fit. I look forward in seeing this one again!"
03.01.2022 More fantastic insight and example through his work (Tomas G. Teskey Veterinary Insights) showing us the Hoof balance and Tooth balance connections.
03.01.2022 This is Barney. He is a 21 year old QH. I was asked to see him on 03rd November. The first photo was taken before his first session. Her presented with some severe tension around his poll, and alot of restrictions and fluid stasis through his body. He would try to bite alot, indicating his discomfort. However, he settled in the session, and seemed to be a little more comfortable in the following days. During this initial session we also took photos of his eyes to be sent ont...o Sue Martin - Animal Naturopathics. Following Sue's assessment of his eyes and recommendations, owner Marisa put Barney on a herbal detox on 2nd December with really positive results. I cannot recommend Sue highly enough - she was the first qualified Equine Iridologist in Australia, and an incredible naturopath as well. I followed Barney up today, and he already looked so much better in the coat, but had resumed his biting, although not as severe as before the detox or initial session. In this session, he settled immediately, and his system dropped into a deep and long tidal rhythm. This was quite incredible and amazing to be witness to as Barney settled into a 25 minute stillpoint; there was a real sense of this incredible Intelligence within his body at work. Having come out of this, he was then allowed some free-range time in the front paddock / garden. I realised I hadn't taken a side shot of him - hence his slightly suspicious look as I took the shot! Reviewing the pre 1st and post 2nd photos I was yet again blown away and humbled at the incredible healing powers present within. #biodynamiccraniosacraltherapy #equinecraniosacraltherapy #natureknowsbest #equineiridology Thank you Marisa for permission to share this story.
