21.01.2022 Crater Lakes Disc Golf Park, home to Mount Gambier Disc Golf looks back at 2020!

21.01.2022 Hole 11 undoubtedly plays as Crater Lakes Disc Golf Park’s hardest but at 250 meters and only a Par 4 there’s a good reason why. An elevated tee provides an opportunity to negate a big chunk of the distance with your first throw but even if you succeed at this you will still need to deal with a narrowing entrance to the basket upon an unforgiving steep mound.

20.01.2022 When the day is done and the glow of the illuminated Centenary Tower shines over our beloved Crater Lakes Course.

20.01.2022 This daunting drive from the advanced tee for hole 14 can certainly chew up an errant drive and spit it out into the unforgiving vegetation on the left. If so, a birdie on this par 4 would no longer be on the menu but a perfect drive that clears the trees and finishes left without finding more trees could have one licking their lips at the chance to down a delicious eagle.

20.01.2022 Those moments in Disc Golf when one stops to think and contemplate what lies ahead rather than what has come to pass.

12.01.2022 A big shout out to the local groundskeeping crew for their role in seeing our great course to the elite standard that was presented to competitors for the Australian Championships. The reputation of the course continues to soar on the back of their efforts. These amazing photos showcasing the venue and the championships are courtesy of Kingsley Flett.

11.01.2022 Is Crater Lakes Disc Golf Park the only Disc Golf course in the world situated within a Volcano? We think we are but would love to find out for sure so please share/tag and hopefully someone out there can supply us with an answer! Regardless, it’s truly an amazing setting we’re lucky enough to call our local course.

09.01.2022 The 2019 Australian National Disc Golf Championships are slowly approaching and the local crew have been working on a possible course Layout to amaze even the best players. We also have some big news to announce soon so keep an eye on what’s to come & see you in November!!!

08.01.2022 Aces at the Crater Lakes Disc Golf Park up til recently have been few and far between but a second local within the last month has enjoyed their maiden hole in one. Today Justin Clarke became the first disc golfer to Ace hole 16 during a casual round with friends. In the meantime anticipation still builds as to who will be the lucky player to snare an Ace during a local competition and take home the ever increasing Ace Pool now worth close to $550.

05.01.2022 The Mount Gambier Disc Golf Club are holding their Club Championships this Sunday! Both the Amateur & Advanced course layouts are in effect and who knows weather either course record may be under threat. Good luck to all competitors.

04.01.2022 During a casual twilight practice round and shaded from the setting sun within the belly of our beautiful volcano. The Crater Lakes Disc Golf Park gave up another rare Ace. This time is was by the fast improving up & comer Mick Wilson with his first throw for the night starting off hole 10 and with an audience to boot. As seen in the video when collecting his spoils from the basket, Mick was clearly still in shock from what is an awesome achievement for every disc golfer.

03.01.2022 Such a great occasion to come for disc golf in both Mt Gambier & South Australia.

02.01.2022 Always great to have some Blue skies offering a break from the Winter Blues.

01.01.2022 Lots of action happening on course with the addition of four new permanent holes which will tie in with a modified layout of the existing advanced layout to create a Par 65 Pro Layout just in time for the Australian Disc Golf Championships in November. The new holes incorporate the Valley Lake area with two tempting players to risk throwing lengthy drives over the lake to gain maximum rewards.

01.01.2022 Site of the Crater Lakes Disc Golf Park in 1955. You can definitely say a bit has changed in the last 65 years.
