25.01.2022 Hi Coffee lovers - a nice little story on Crater Mountain and moi... Enjoy over a coffee or something stronger.

24.01.2022 We loved meeting the guys from Blackbird Espresso Specialty Coffee yesterday. Thanks for visiting and having a look around the farm. . Our yellow and red catuais a coming along nicely and we look forward to sharing them widely soon.

24.01.2022 Stop the car! My favourite distillery is now making a coffee liqueur. Ill try not to drink it all.

23.01.2022 A fabulous day of coffee tasting today with our friends Matthew from Altitude Cafe and Vitaliy from Howe Farming Enterprises. These guys looove their coffee. We tried some fantastic local honey process and some fascinating ferments. Just to mix it up we also tried some exquisite Burundi filter and Matthews brilliant Ethiopian Guji roast. To top off our day, one of Crater Mountain Coffees resident Tree Kangaroos found a spot in the rainforest near our house for some glorious winter sun.

23.01.2022 We have been making a lot of iced coffees this summer. The kids have even added it to their roadside stall. I use a slow drip Bruer but find the hot pour over ice works really well too. Sweeten with brown sugar. Enjoy.

22.01.2022 Where our coffee grows. Isnt it beautiful?

22.01.2022 Name my cocktail. Contains cascara jelly, bitters and whisky. Topped with mandarin.

22.01.2022 Cupping some of the amazing coffees we have been working on this year. Watch out for sales of some fascinating filter, cold brew and espresso soon. . Thanks to our coffee loving friends, Matt and Vitaliy for their support and refined palates...

20.01.2022 Saturday mornings done right. Silent house. Cicadas warning me of the hot day to come and buggy parked outside the kitchen ready for work. All I need is a prefect Crater Mountain natural process coffee. Clean and clear with light fruitiness. If you are not already a black coffee drinker, this one is sure to swing you over. #australiancoffee #australiancoffeefarm #filtercoffee #hariov60 #hario #australianfarmers

20.01.2022 Soooooo much has happened since December at Crater Mountain Coffee. Weve planted around 10000 more seedlings and purchased some processing equipment for this years crop. The weather has been brilliant for working outside and nurturing our babies. Heres a few pictures from our summer of hard work.

19.01.2022 Flower time . Our coffee trees are in flower for just a day before setting the beans for next years crop. The smell is magnificent. If you happen to be on my part of the tableleands today, feel free to come and have a look and smell. #australiancoffee #australianfarmers #australiancoffeefarm #specialtycoffee #coffeecherry #coffeeflower

19.01.2022 It was a frustrating day on the farm with irrigation problems and slow progress on our processing shed. All made much better when I came home to a new parcel of coffees from our friends at @leafbeanmachine. Tomorrow is looking like a better day.

19.01.2022 Yep. Im working on a roast that does that!

19.01.2022 The rain has slowed plans for harvesting but we are still busy on the farm. Today I commissioned the roaster and made a couple of little movies to show you what weve been up to. Heres a brief look at our processing plant.

19.01.2022 Our bourbons are getting close

18.01.2022 Our yellow and red catuai cultuvars are coming along. As much as wed like to harvest now, we are going to hold on and let those sugar levels rise.

18.01.2022 Esresso Martini Festival. The sacrifices we make in search of new coffee experiences...

18.01.2022 Tell us what you think makes an AWESOME slide. We are designing the 2019 version now.

17.01.2022 We are excited to be heading into our first commercial harvest this year. Its been a long wait but initial trials are promising with some exceptional coffees. We think this is due to our unique terroir. #australianowned #specialtycoffee #farmlife http://ow.ly/xdbY50AOHv8

17.01.2022 Drying our first batch of coffee with the dryer video by @oscar_masterman

17.01.2022 https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1655504781254744&id=368364673302101 Hi coffee lovers - heres a sweet little promo to put a smile on your dial. Dont waste your isolation time on crap coffee. Check out some of your local roasters that are doing it hard and buy the good gear. If you are stuck for ideas, pm me and Ill put you on to some of my favourites.

16.01.2022 Its finally nearing the end of the drizzle season at Crater Mountain Coffee. We put up with the mud and mold knowing that our coffee trees are thriving. Have a read of this short blog, that describes how our misty mountains is contributing to exceptional coffee. :-) http://txi.711.myftpupload.com/misty-mountain-magic/

15.01.2022 Wonderful afternoon light at Crater Mountain Coffee on this Mothers day. Hope you all managed to spend time with your mums, too.

15.01.2022 Its hot and dry so we cant plant in the paddock yet but our coffee seedling nursery is thriving. We have around 20000 brand new coffee babies emerging ready for late 2020 planting and another 8000 seedlings ready for the paddock as soon as we get our first storms. Do some rain dancing for us please.

14.01.2022 Coffee adventures with Matthew from Altitude Brew Bar. Exploring Ethiopian Guji and some lovely local beans. They are open on weekday mornings for your caffeine fix and make sure you check out their brew range. In addition to perfectly extracted espresso, they offer V60 and filter. Yummo. :-)

13.01.2022 Dry room 100kg of test coffee Gas connection LPG conversion Probes and software... Fire extinguisher Heady mix of fear and excitement And.... we are ready to roast... See more

13.01.2022 Saving our best til last. Picking the most amazing yellow catuai today. The fruit tastes awesome. Mango, banana, passionfruit. I cant wait to taste it the cup.

13.01.2022 Our coffee cherries look amazing but you have to wait a few more months before we can harvest, process, roast and send to our favourite coffee lovers. In the meantime, start exercising your coffee tasting senses because we have some awesome micro lots and processes planned. Heres a good article to get you started. https://thequeenbean.blog//tips-on-how-to-develop-your-co/

12.01.2022 Roasting today. . The smells coming from the Crater Mountain shed are amazing. Sales start Friday!

12.01.2022 We have found a yeast that works beautifully with our coffee. . But the experiments continue.... For today's harvest we are comparing vessels and water quantities with a long fermentation. #australiancoffee #carbonicmaceration #coffeefermentation #coffeecherry #coffeelover #highaltitudecoffee

12.01.2022 Crazy experiments at the #nowaste coffee farm this week. We saved the coffee cherry to make cascara (dry coffee cherry tea). I also saved some of the fresh cherry to make coffee cherry jelly. Amazing! The jelly is awesome on toast or scones. The absolute winner of the week though, was my take on an Old Fashioned cocktail. Take a big spoon of coffee cherry jelly and shake it up with bitters and whisky. Pour on ice and top with soda and mandarin slivers. You are welcome.

11.01.2022 My mum has been busy with lots of preserving this winter. Citrus, ginger, cucumbers, pumpkin. Shes had to dig out some ancient recipe books to find new(old) recipes to use up our stockpiles. This little gem from the 1950s had some interesting recommendations on the perfect coffee. Just add salt!

10.01.2022 We are sample roasting for a friend today. His coffee is delicious! It grows in a protected valley surrounded by forests not far from here. My roaster does a brilliant job but at 40g per sample, its a long process and the coffee is not available for retail sale until I find a larger roaster!

08.01.2022 Coffee farm essentials. #coffeebar . There is no chance of a bad coffee from Crater Mountain Coffee when I've got the right coffee gadgets . Watch this space for sales starting soon. I've even matched some tools to my coffees so you can make the perfect cup at home. #australiancoffee #australiancoffeefarm #hariov60

08.01.2022 Its too cold and wet for working today so I get to sit by the fire and enjoy this lovely Timor Leste natural filter brew. .

08.01.2022 We have a fabulous morning on the mountain. I love seeing the mist in the valleys and our 2019 planting soaking up the sun.

06.01.2022 We have been doing some sample roasting today with beans from our coffee growing friends in the district. Lots of crazy experiments with fermentation - even adding vegemite to the tank! Not sure we can recommend that, but its fun to play. Lucy got some Kruve EQ coffee experience cups for her recent birthday. I was skeptical, but you can actually taste the enhanced sweetness or acidity etc, depending on the model used. Been fun to use them to try the experimental roasts. They are a nice gimmick for the coffee lover with everything! KRUVE

05.01.2022 Fermentation Friday. . For the last few weeks we've spent Friday nights setting off different fermentation trials. Last night we broke some records with 6 different wine yeasts, one beer yeast and 3 coffee yeasts! The cherries look amazing. If the coffee doesn't taste the same, I'm goimg back to writing PowerPoint slides for a living! #coffeefermentation #coffeecherry #australiancoffee #australiancoffeefarm

05.01.2022 The coffee has grown and the slide has become more elaborate. Time for an updated video I think!

05.01.2022 Sunny at last. After a few weeks of constant drizzle we were keen to get out in the paddock and check on the coffee. It hasnt minded at all! The trees look fantastic and this years crop is looking great.

05.01.2022 Its a glorious easter weekend here at Crater Mountain Coffee. We hope you all have been able to get out and enjoy at least a little fun. This growing season is coming to an end, but it has been a great balance of rain and sun - the coffee trees have put on a lot of growth and are looking very healthy.

04.01.2022 Thanks for buying coffee everyone! Im sad to say that we are sold out so no more orders until this time next year.

04.01.2022 The mist and the mildew have been our friends for the last 3 months. We are finally nearing the end of the dreaded drizzle season. Thankfully our coffee looooooooooves the cold temps and cool nights allowing slow and complex bean development.

01.01.2022 Just 4 years ago my dear Mum and Dad planted our first coffee trees in the garden. Since then we have moved to the other side of the country, worked our hardest, spent our savings, nurtured another 15000 trees and learnt an incredible amount along the way. We are immensely proud that today we have produced some of Australia's most unique coffee. Follow our social media closely for the next couple of weeks and watch out for our sales announcements. I cant wait to share it with you. xxx

01.01.2022 Its cold and wet on the mountain today. The dog and I have taken up residence in front of the fire. A great day to enjoy a Colombian filter brew and work on our webpage.

01.01.2022 A glorious day on the mountain. Hope you have your coffee supplies ready for the weekend. We will be doing some brix testing of the cherries to see how their sweetness is progressing.
