10.01.2022 Let's talk hashtags. Are they still relevant and important in 2020? Yes. Should you have a dedicated hashtag strategy? Also yes. Think of hashtags like 'search terms' in google. Think about what your audience would *actually* be searching within Instagram to find your content (eg. 'Hunter Food Guide' when looking for Crave Newcastle).... Keep it niche. Avoid the oversaturated 'inspo' 'love' 'cute' type of tags where your content is likely to get lost + attract the wrong kind of followers. Try 'hashtagging' your location (eg. #newcastlensw) or something relevant to your *actual* current and future customers. If you're struggling and don't know where to start, punch 'hashtag generator' into Google and pick a handful of the most relevant tags provided to use in your posts. Here are some of our top tips to getting organised and making the most of your social media marketing: Use a post scheduling tool If you can set aside an hour or so to create all your social posts ready for the week ahead (instead of just creating them on the fly), we guarantee you will see instant results. Not only will you feel less stressed, knowing you've ticked that box for the whole week - you will al...so be able to put some more love and strategy into your content instead of just rushing through it. We use a platform called 'Later' and we love it. They even have a FREE account option for smaller businesses! However, that doesn't mean you can't also capture/create fun Instagram stories on the fly throughout the week! We are big advocates for 'in the moment' kind of content as well, but ideally this should not make up the entirety of your strategy. Choose your social platforms wisely Have a think about which social platforms you're using (Instagram? Facebook? Twitter? Tik Tok?). Are they the best places to reach your ideal customer? If not, don't waste your time and energy on it. Don't spread yourself too thin - spend your time mastering one or two platforms where you can really connect with 'your people'.
