17.01.2022 DRUG COURT REOPENS IN QUEENSLAND The program will begin in November to help drug and alcohol dependant offenders eliminate their criminal activities caused from their addiction. The program offers tailored supervised rehabilitation whilst the offenders are on a wholly suspended sentence in the community. However, the offenders run the risk of having the sentence activated if they commit another offence.

11.01.2022 Another great result for a client of Craven Lawyers. Today we appeared in the Ipswich Magistrates Court for a client who pleaded guilty to one offence of driving while a relevant drug was present in his saliva. The client had an extensive traffic history with a number of prior drink drives and a high range drink drive in the last 5 years. Our client faced a maximum penalty of $1,649.20 or 3 months imprisonment and a mandatory 9 month licence disqualification. Fortunately for... our client, the prosecution did not provide the Court with the relevant notice to allege his prior convictions and consequently the Magistrate was not bound to impose the mandatory 9 month disqualification. Sentence Result: $800.00 fine and a 4 month licence disqualification. #trafficlawyerbrisbane #trafficlawyeripswich
