25.01.2022 WE ARE OPEN! The office is open Monday & Thursdays 9am-4pm. Appointments can be made for other days. Please be mindful we are following social distancing and hygiene measures here at Crawford's Sheds. Please do not come into the office if you are experiencing a fever, cough, sore throat or shortness of breath. 06.01.2022 ANGRY RATEPAYERS Businesses in Polo Flat industrial area, Cooma, are incensed by the increase in council rates. They are also concerned their property values, o...n which rates are based, have increased enormously since the last valuation period. A meeting of some of the business owners last Friday revealed some properties had their unimproved capital value increase by 137 percent and more, according the Valuer General’s recent notice of valuation. The businesses believe the recent purchase of Polo Flat airport and other property, by Snowy Hydro, has pushed up the value for adjoining land. But as they point out, the airfield purchase was a one-off. There are no other similar properties in the region, either for sale or not for sale, so that unique circumstance should not have influenced the Valuer General’s assessment to such a degree.
