25.01.2022 Have you been in this week and seen our new range? If not, come in monday and check it out :) All beef is heifer beef under 1 year old, Lambs are young and hand picked from the farm. You won't find sweeter, tastier, fresher meat anywhere in Launceston. With the large supermarket chains starting to move towards mainland beef, now is a better time than ever to buy local and support tasmanian farmers.

24.01.2022 Call in to Crawfs Chop Shop on 295 Wellington St, Tasmanian Yearling Beef, Lamb & Pork at discount prices Yearling scotch fillet, eye fillet & porterhouse all available. Old style favourites of yesteryear including rolled roast beef, black pudding, corned Silverside and beef patties. We also stock dog food made in house at $3Kg, as well as dog bones & biscuits. ... We also stock a small range of Australian made old style lollies for those of you who have a sweet tooth for the older style candy :) 295 Wellington Street, we cant wait to see you

23.01.2022 LOCAL TASMANIAN BEEF. WANT TO SUPPORT TASMANIAN FARMERS? START HERE. WE GUARANTEE OUR MEAT IS BOUGHT LOCALLY AT AUCTIONS DIRECTLY FROM THE FARMER.... At Crawfords Chop Shop, we use agents who go to local auctions to buy our bodies of beef & lamb DIRECTLY from local farmers. Our pork comes DIRECTLY from a farmer in scottsdale. Want to put money back into the hands of Tasmanian farmers? Buy our meat. Anyone can talk it up and say buy local and whatever else.. but how much of it is really local? At Crawfs Chop Shop we GUARANTEE that the meat you are buying has come directly from a Tasmanian Farmer at a local auction. In the last few months we have completely re-done our range to make sure that we are supporting local farmers, and we GUARANTEE our meat is local... we can't do much more than that. Our prices are competitive with COLES & WOOLWORTHS and we are using LOCAL MEAT. How can I say and know this? Because I priced the products myself and compared to both Coles & Woolworths while doing so. We know price & quality are important and i'd argue we're better at both, whilst using local products. 295 Wellington Street, Barbie the sheep is out the front waiting to greet you. Open until 6PM Every night with parking out the front, it couldn't be easier to get locally sourced meat. :)

15.01.2022 We are sorry to announce we are closing the doors this Friday. Unfortunately the shop is no longer profitable due to increasing meat prices and lower sales thanks to supermarkets increasing their market share. This has not been an easy decision to make, we have poured our hearts into this business but at the end of the day we have to be realistic. Running a small business in Tasmania certainly takes a toll on you ... We are having a sale this week to sell our remaining meat... & products. Please call in and grab a bargain. Lamb, Silverside and Sausages to sell! Sausages only $9/kilo, priced to sell! We would like to thank our customers for supporting us over the last 2 years Cheers Crawf

04.01.2022 G'day guys, just letting you know we won't be opening Saturdays due to a lower customer demand in Winter. We still have the same great meat available 9-6 weekdays. Cheers, Crawf.

02.01.2022 Please be aware we are closing early today (3PM), and possibly changing our hours on weekends to reflect the current situation in the market. 12mths ago we decided to trial opening Saturdays at the request of our customers, yet currently as it stands opening on Saturdays is a net loss and we are reconsidering whether there is still any demand for Saturday Shoppers? Traditional Butchery is a dying industry, we've been hearing of local butcheries closing down this year, and ot...hers that are not doing so well.... suffice to say we are feeling the pinch too. With meat prices increasing almost 100% in the past year, combined with the fact Supermakets are taking more and more of the market share... well.. it makes one wonder whether Butchers will be around much longer in the future. We hear it all the time in the news, Australian Farmers Struggling... Local Businesses Closing down... No jobs for local people... Yet for some reason people still buy imported products from the supermarket.... sending our money... jobs..... and beautiful meat overseas. Please support local business before sending your hard earned dollars overseas.... We hope you have a great weekend, and look forward to seeing you in the shop through the week. :) Crawf
