25.01.2022 Today is the Daffodil Day and the children watched a short movie "What is cancer" from the Redkite website. The children made a beautiful poster using their handprints
23.01.2022 Today we farewell Courtney and Nicole as they start their maternity leave. We wish them both well and look forward to meeting the new arrivals.
21.01.2022 How beautiful is this painting! From time to time, the children will participate in free painting. The teacher will ask the children what they would like her to draw and then the children will colour it in with paints. The idea of this is that the children will learn social skills such as taking turns with the colours, asking their friends if they can use a colour when they are finished and having general conversation as they paint. Other intentional skills they learn are to: not mix the colours and stay within the lines. Come and take a look to see it yourself
20.01.2022 The Rainbow skittles experience :) Educators and children arranged a pattern of skittles on the edge of a round plate. Then an educator poured some water in the middle of the plate until it reached the skittles and the children all watched and observed how the colours in the skittles ran out to make a rainbow.
18.01.2022 This morning the Crayon House kids were treated to their very own Gruffalo puppet show. The children helped put this together themselves. Yesterday they were all very busy helping paint our Gruffalo cave stage. What a great way to start our Tuesday.
17.01.2022 Nothing else would make us feel better than the lovely message of appreciation from one of our families. Happy Educators’ Day everyone
16.01.2022 Today the Kindy children enjoyed an easy experiment showing the process of absorption. With the help of an educator they cut open 3 clean nappies and took out all the fluff. They poured water over it trying to estimate how much water could be absorbed. They lost the count after 15 cups! The children had a great time watching how the fluff just gets bigger and bigger and no water is visible in the bowl.
15.01.2022 Children can learn new skills, have fun, play and develop self-confidence by spending time in the garden. Most children enjoy being outdoors and love digging in the soil, getting dirty, creating things and watching plants grow. People of all ages can enjoy gardening, but children in particular will have lots of fun and gain special benefits. Gardening is educational and develops new skills including:... Responsibility from caring for plants Understanding as they learn about cause and effect (for example, plants die without water, weeds compete with plants) Love of nature a chance to learn about the outdoor environment in a safe and pleasant place
15.01.2022 Today the Kindy children went on a excursion to the Post shop to buy some stamps so they could post some letters. Keep an eye on the mailbox . . #postie #bullcreek #perthchildcare #mail #australiapost #kindy #earlychildhoodaustralia #cityofmelville

10.01.2022 The children were practising their gross motor skills today through an obstacle course designed for balancing. The children decided to challenge each other. If they touch the floor then they had to start the course all over again.
10.01.2022 Today the children dressed in traditional Indian dress for women, called Sari. The children wore this dress so proudly, modelling the dress to each other as they took turns. It's so wonderful that we live in such a multicultural society where we can learn and teach cultural responsiveness.
10.01.2022 Halloween We had a a very fun morning with so many Halloween games. We climbed through spiderweb, and jumped through monster jaws. We threw rotten oranges for our pumpkins on the wall to eat and we dug out spiders and eyeballs that were hiding in worms!
08.01.2022 The children had turns hammering the wooden plugs into holes in the board. They loved this activity so much that they hammered over 100 plugs into the peg board. Once this was completed we added tiny loom bands and elastics to the board. The children were so excited and started to be really creative. We are so proud of the new resource that the Kindy children created for themselves. This is a great activity for fine motor skills, colour recognition, imagination, experimentation, creativity, social skills and learning through play.
