25.01.2022 Fi: first Christmas card of the season! The background was created using distress ink (colours cracked pistachio, mowed lawn and twisted citron, and twisted citron distress oxide) and I stamped the pine needles in the distress archival peeled paint from @tim_holtz set ‘Yuletide gatherings’. The cat and mini bird are from @stampersanonymous and @simonsaysstamp stamptember 2020 which I coloured in with distress markers before edging the card in walnut stain distress ink and mounting. The sentiment is from the glorious gatherings stamp set. So to all my hard working colleagues this is for you, particularly our Melbourne sisters and brothers..... be the storm I used @tim_holtz distress oxide sprays in fossilised amber, dried marigold and spun sugar for the background with abandoned coral for the spots and the script from the entomology stamp set. The image was from a friend who printed it out for me but I had s...een this on Facebook (anyone who knows the reference please comment so I can credit the artist)... 14.01.2022 Fi: back to the fabric journal after a short break thanks to too much work I used @tim_holtz stamp set photo studio and stamped directly onto the fabric, I then also stamped onto white card before cutting around the children with deckle scissors and using distress inks in walnut stain and antique linen. The green on the background was actually mess from the speckled egg ink pad which had leaked so I rubbed it in and added some water for good measure. 14.01.2022 Fi: These tins are a little addictive (inspired by a class I took from Seth Apter). I have used @tim_holtz Christmas tins for this project for a friends mum to house her pins for sewing. I used material tape measure ribbon and some ephemera printed and stamped (one of Tim Holtz’ earlier stamp sets- Haberdashery) which was enhanced with spun sugar distress ink and a button. All except the button I went over with @Seth apter vintage beeswax embossing powder (we have ordered mo...re of this from @emeraldcreekcs in both regular and large sizes and hope the postie delivers these before Christmas) and a sprinkle of patina oxide. 13.01.2022 Fi: in the blue @dinawakley journal I sprayed the gloss sprays in mineral and lime. I added a picture from a magazine from the 1930’s before placing a stencil over the top and spraying more mineral gloss spray. I then used the stem of the eggplant gloss spray to add the lines and finished it off with a sticker from @tim_holtz snarky sticker book. 12.01.2022 Fi: In the @tim_holtz fabric journal I have used the Halloween collage paper torn in half(ish) and glued it to the fabric. I then layered some cards from the 2020 Halloween ephemera pack, a quote chip from 2019 Halloween, a paper doll and stickers from the snarky small talk book. I used the hand stamp from set ‘eclectic adverts’ onto some tissue paper. 07.01.2022 Fi: today’s @tim_holtz fabric journal page was done using the stamp sets ‘entomology’, ‘the professor’, ‘etcetera’, and ‘life quotes’. I stamped the moths/butterflies onto tissue paper and coloured them with distress ink and a water brush. I also added a quote chip which I pulled apart so it wasn’t as bulky. A fun little page. 06.01.2022 Fi: sometimes I can’t always find my made for crafting tools so I adapt :) creating doesn’t have to be expensive, there are plenty of alternatives out there for some products. I had cut a rectangle out of an old cardboard box a while ago so decided to use the remnants of it to make a frame and use it as a ruler :) I could even use it again to stick on a canvas or something (which I just might do!) here is the start of another mixed media page for class. I used @dinawakley scribble stick in ruby to draw the lines and then go over it with a wet paintbrush. The background stamp is from @tim_holtz entomology set. 02.01.2022 Fi: playing with my @sethapter dye ink sprays and the new stamps from the ‘tracks’ set as well as stamps from the sets ‘phresh phrases’ and ‘border lines’. The face is from a TCW stencil. I used baked texture in deep sea and agean Sea to emboss some of the areas as well as using the WOW embossing brush freehand for some dots.
