03.01.2022 It is with many mixed emotions that we must today announce the closure of Polyester Records and Crazy Arms Melbourne. Nothing lasts forever, but Polyester has e...ndured in its Fitzroy home for an extraordinary period since 1983, with the Flinders Lane store operating 2007-2014, both with much joy, mutual support and fond memories of the celebration of a seemingly endless amount of incredible music. Artists, labels and personalities which we have surrounded ourselves with and enjoyed involvement with from not only around the world, but particularly important for us and our community - from within Melbourne music. Our final day of trade will be 13th March, 2020 - in the coming weeks you will see a series of very special event announcements to celebrate our history, starting this Saturday with our friend Sarah Mary Chadwick at 2pm, playing live in the shop. Across both Polyester and Crazy Arms, a great number of people have witnessed a great number of astonishing moments within these walls. We would like to invite you to share your memories in written, visual or audible form with us via our DMs on Facebook and Instagram if you feel so inclined. There are a lot of surreal and beautiful memories to be recalled and also to now be created in this run up to the end of our time, so we encourage you to join every step of the way. As far as housekeeping, we are open to offers on the purchase of fittings, so please enquire if you would like. We are of course honouring vouchers up until the end of trading and are also encouraging all independent artists with stock on consignment terms to approach us before the closure date, however there will be an additional grace period following the closure to get in touch still and we ask that you bear with us while we tend to all enquiries.
