20.01.2022 Strategic Planning Day with fellow elected members and the administration leadership team. As a collective many positives have been delivered. Let’s keep working to make a difference for the residents and ratepayers in the City of Playford.

17.01.2022 One Tree Hill - Market Day It was another beautiful day at the OTH Markets. Thank you to the residents who came along to say hello, discuss and engaged on local concerns. It was fantastic to be joined and visited by so many elected members and the Deputy Mayor from the City of Playford. Thank you for sharing the day in my hometown Cr Peter Rentoulis, Cr Clint Marsh - City of Playford, Cr Jane Onuzans, Deputy Mayor Marilyn Baker, Cr Gay Smallwood-Smith and Cr Shirley Halls.... We were also visited by Mayoral candidate Shaun Reardon. Thanks Shaun. As a local resident growing up in One Tree Hill, seeing an upgrade to the McGilp Recreation Park to meet the growing community’s needs is a topic close to my heart. In a recent meeting I’ve had the opportunity to discuss and see the concept plans. What are the keys to seeing these plans delivered in the near future? A special thanks to the One Tree Hill Progress Association and the market manager Heather Fischer who’s hard work and dedication ensures that the monthly market day continues. Thanks to everyone who contributed towards making this day enjoyable and one to remember. 14.01.2022 OTH Progress and Playford Councillors talking to Channel 7 today regarding the lack of onsite backup electricity if the township loses power (and hence water). Hopefully will be broadcast tonight on 6pm news.

14.01.2022 Remember to lookout and have your say on the Fire Safety and Verge Mowing consultation process. In the last week I’ve stopped and taken a few pictures. I’m hoping that the increased service level for the verge mowing in the City of Playford will see these verges mowed and maintained before the commencement of the fire season. If you have questions please give me a call.... Cr David Kerrison on 0478283879.

13.01.2022 Community Forum on waste management with Hon David Speirs MP : Minister for Environment and Water. Great feedback and questions from the residents of King tonight. Hopefully the State Government can come to the table, work with Local Government and assist in delivering improved outcomes on waste management as indicated tonight. It was excellent to be joined with local community members and fellow Councillors Clint Marsh and Akram Arifi.... Thank you to NAWMA for having representatives attending and providing important information tonight. NAWMA offers an excellent range of services and I will be handing out information again at the One Tree Hill Markets this Saturday on the available NAWMA services for the City of Playford.

11.01.2022 Looking forward to the One Tree Hill markets again tomorrow. I’ll be attending again with fellow councillor from Ward 1 Peter Rentoulis to listen and hear local concerns. We will also be visited and joined by other fellow Councillors for the City of Playford Cr Clint Marsh - City of Playford, Jane Onuzans and Gay Smallwood-Smith.... What is on the agenda tomorrow other than listening to you, the residents and ratepayers. 1. Having a great day 2. Verge mowing and having your say. 3. The excellent range of Waste Services available through the City of Playford via NAWMA. Easy to read summary sheets will be available. 4. The concept plans for the McGilp Recreation Park and what is needed to see this service delivered for One Tree Hill. 5. The approaching bushfire season and how the One Tree Hill township residents feel about the risk of being left without water in the event of a fire. How we can work together to see the appropriate infrastructure delivered to ensure the delivery of water for the township residents that are on mains water, in the event where mains power is lost. Hoping to see everyone tomorrow!

10.01.2022 One Tree Hill locals have raised the alarm over fears their water supply could be cut in a major bushfire. The local pumping station doesn't have automatic bac...k-up power, sparking warnings a blackout could be catastrophic. www.7NEWS.com.au #7NEWS

08.01.2022 Waste Management at the City of Playford. Do we all understand the waste services available in the City of Playford via NAWMA? Who is NAWMA, what do they do and what benefits do they deliver to the ratepayer and residents in the City of Playford.... Prior to becoming an elected member and representative for Ward 3 City of Playford, I did not understand the range of services and function of NAWMA. I hope the following information sheet assists. For further details please go to nawma.sa.gov.au or call 82592100.

07.01.2022 When are our verges likely to be mowed? Remember the mowing of verges in the rural areas maybe affected by weed identification and control measures! Remember to have your say on our verge management

03.01.2022 Positive news on curb maintenance for Jordan Drive near the intersection of Burnett Drive, One Tree Hill. The City of Playford followed up on my Customer Service Request last week and informed me that the hazardous curb will be repaired. If you have any concerns please place a CRS with the City of Playford on 82560333.... Regards David Kerrison

02.01.2022 Action needed immediately - As the Fire Season approaches The One Tree Hill township loses water supply (mains pressure) when main power is lost. This leaves the township residents at risk without adequate water to defend their properties in the event of a bushfire.... The need for a backup generator has been raised by the One Tree Hill progress association with SA Water and our local MP. This is 2020, water supply is essential to the township and the people of the community. I did wish to raise this at the Community Forum on Waste with David Spiers MP. Unfortunately there was limited time for questions and follow up discussions. I intend to contact our local MP Paula Luethen MP - Member for KING this week for further follow up. Can the SA Government deliver and ensure the essential water supply to the township, servicing residents, homes, the local primary school and McGilp Recreation Park. 02.01.2022 One Tree Hill township residents Still out on a limb. State Government increasing water requirements in bushfire zones (new homes) but what about the One Tree Hill township? The One Tree Hill residents are still seeking a back up generator to ensure water for the town, when mains power is lost. The One Tree Hill residents in general are extremely tolerant however, after approximately ten years and numerous bushfire threats to the town, concern is beginning to mount as the ...fire season approaches. In recent years some major fire events have occurred including the Sampson Flat Bushfire (2015), Pinery (2015) and Cuddlee Creek fire (2019). One Tree Hill has been fortunate not to face the fire front and a significant ember attack. We can be thankful to the prevailing wind conditions at the times of these fires and the great work and efforts of the CFS, emergency services and local residents. However, in the future we may not be so fortunate! Having reviewed research papers it has become evident that many people stay to defend their homes in the event of a bushfire. One would expect therefore to have a reliable water supply. The State Government has been increasing requirements for new homes in high risk bushfire areas. The new requirements include up to 22,000 litres of on site water, yet the State Government has not delivered a backup generator to ensure the delivery of water for the existing township, servicing approximately 175 properties. One would expect in 2020, a town’s water supply delivered by SA Water to be reliable especially in a possible and foreseeable event. The SA Water supply also supplies the local school, the OTH Institute also used as an emergency refuge, McGilp Recreation park, local businesses and the CFS station. The delivery of the SA Water supply is under the State Government’s direction and control and I encourage the residents to contact and express their concerns to our local MP Paula Luethen. Paula has been good for One Tree Hill area, engaging and listening to the community. We now need her help to see this service delivered for the township’s residents. In recent years fires have caused major losses to life and property. Property loss reports for Sampson Flat (24 houses/103 sheds/ 62 firefighter injuries), Cudlee Creek (72 houses/404 outbuildings/227 vehicles destroyed), Pinery 70 (91 houses destroyed/388 non-residential buildings/98 vehicles/93 items of farm machinery) Let’s make sure we protect our town and see a backup generator installed for this fire season. Having grown up in One Tree Hill and still living in the area, I am concerned and passionate about seeing this service delivered for the safety of the town, community and residents. As a resident and as your Councillor for the City of Playford, I will continue to advocate to see this service delivered. See attached news paper article. (estimated 2010)
