23.01.2022 This has been a little challenging this job, BUT I GOT THERE :) This is the factory way the Kawasaki guys did these tanks in 1973 for the Z1 motor bike. 1. apply Base coat white 2. mask off the white base with the hand masked pattern 3. paint base coat black... 4. Unmask 5. Appy the correct amount of silver flake in binder ( this must be right as this makes the right colour brown, two many coats = to orange, not enough to dark black ) 6.apply 5 coats of orange candy 7. 3 coats of clear 8. 11.01.2022 So just after Christmas I had the job to get this 100/s Austin healey form raw aluminum to full painted car and to be on the race track for the F1 Shannon's demonstration! Well after 5 massive weeks I got it done, Steve got to drive the car on the Thursday session.
