23.01.2022 As promised, here are some tips on setting healthy boundaries. I can promise you that at the beginning it will feel very uncomfortable to follow through, especially when people have the element of surprise in you setting boundaries. But please stick it out, it will get easier and it will be so worth it at the end. Clearly identify your boundary (easy done when you know your values) - know what you want... Understand why you need the boundary, be specific with your request Be straight forward and assertive Ask without apology or give long explanations Use a calm and polite tone Set tighter boundaries to begin with ( you can loosen them where appropriate) Address boundary violations early and safeguard your spaces Don’t make it personal Get support Trust your intuition And here is a bonus one from me - learn to say no. 16.01.2022 Do you know what your values are? I have previously posted about the values of Create Again and personally I follow very much the same values. When I tried to work out what I wanted Create Agains values to be I actually needed to work out what my own values are first. Whilst some of them are similar or the same, I needed to ensure that whatever I chose Create Agains values to be, align with my own personal values and views of the world. ... This was an amazing exercise and something that I would encourage everyone to do. 15.01.2022 Last post on boundaries, however I could not leave this topic alone without talking about some of the benefits of setting boundaries. By setting boundaries you will have more compassion for yourself and for others, improve communication and reduce conflict in relationships. Being more assertive through setting boundaries will also increase your level of confidence and increase self-esteem. You will feel more respected by yourself and others and better understood and accepte...d by your family and friends. Anxiety and stress reduction can also be a benefit, together with being less angry or the feeling of resentment. Setting boundaries will allow you to spend your time and energy on the things in life that nourish you and bring joy to your body, mind and spirit. 10.01.2022 The rising Phoenix is more to me than just a logo! Throughout my life I have come across adversity - like so many of you would have too. I was bullied in school, had narcissistic people in my life on several occasions and still, I managed to rise from a low point Every Single Time! ... Being a coach does not protect you for coming across adversity, but it gives you the skills to work through it or the understanding when to reach out for support and what support you might need. In the past few weeks I have been through some adversity again and therefore decided to go a little quiet on my socials. Whilst I have worked through what was going on, I will still take my time in coming back. The Phoenix is still representing what I can achieve, that I can rise up and Create Again. 01.01.2022 There are always two sides to a coin. Although I am a breakup, mindset & life coach I also have my moments that are far from perfect and if I was my own client I would ask myself some really hard questions. Two years ago I posted something very vulnerable and thought it’s a good time to share it again. It was a very challenging time in my life and as much as I have grown far beyond what I ever could have imagined, I do sometimes look back and remember what it felt like. The... sun rises and the sun sets. One day after the other. And every day seems to be the same. You put on that suit of strength and bravery and most days it fits you perfectly as you amalgamate with it and believe that you are indeed strong and brave. Nothing in this world can phase you and no one can hurt you. And then there are the days you wear that suit and you are everything but strong and brave. Little pieces of you are weak and vulnerable and you start doubting every decision you’ve made. You wear that suit and no one realises the pain and loneliness inside you. It eats away on you and you are falling apart behind closed doors. And then there is the anger that comes with it, the anger that everything you worked so hard for seems to be a farce. You remember the friends that stood by you and you realise that suit is not just a suit, it is you. You are strong and brave and you are also vulnerable and that’s ok.
