23.01.2022 My top tips to winning new business We have heaps happening in the world right now and a recession to boot. Now, more so than ever before we have to win work to sustain jobs and grow as much as we can to dig our way out of it. As a bid professional here are some of my top tips to winning new business: ... Tender / bid for contracts. KEEP IN MIND.... A panel or period contract can provide a level of certainty for a longer period of time but the workload can be unknown. Diversify your products and services to increase your reach of potential customers. Revamp your marketing documents and bid / tender libraries. A fresh new approach will be seen through a new lens and grab the attention of your audience. Keep or increase your marketing budget as a necessity to keep visible. Blog consistently on your website and share across socials. If in doubt hire an expert to help you. Email and advertise new offers and promotions. Network, join local affiliations and business groups and meet and greet old and new customers. Apply for grant funding to assist your business as much as possible. Remember adding value and content is king. Have any more tips let us all know below....

23.01.2022 Check it out...

23.01.2022 This right here... the thanks and appreciation from a local business landed in my inbox yesterday!! They were a first time client and I helped them overcome a bad tender debrief where they lost a significant contract. We sat down, I did a quick page turn and I told them bluntly what was wrong. They then showed me the losing submission debrief and almost word for word It reiterated exactly what I said was wrong. I then worked with them on their next submission and we nailed ...it. Contract awarded to them 2 weeks later. Congrats Want in on my winning formula? Then DM me to go on my TENDER SCHOOL waitlist!!! Yep, you read that right. It's coming, soon!

22.01.2022 A stray comma or incorrect punctuation mark can cost you or your business millions! Yep!! You read that right. For a lot of people a stray comma or missing full stop isn't the end of the world and at worst leaves you a little red faced. BUT..... when it comes to tenders, bids and proposals then you better get your grammar game on. A misplaced, missing or misused punctuation mark could cost you millions of dollars. ... How could this happen? Well, too easily unfortunately. Misplacements of commas and full stops in pricing schedules can cost you big dollars. Incorrect punctuation in key messages can completely change the intent of your bid. Moral of the story is to proofread, edit and proofread again so your punctuation errors don't cost you millions.

17.01.2022 We have all heard of the idiom "sharpen your pencil" and quite often hear it at tender debriefs if your bid was not competitive. When you hear this feedback have you actually taken the time and used the opportunity to ask further questions so you can improve in the future? Take a look at my blog post on my "Top 5 questions to ask at a tender debrief on "sharpen your pencil" feedback". #tenderwriter #darwin #bids #proposals

17.01.2022 Fab seeing connections being made between people and businesses. Chloe actually attended an interview with another client and unfortunately they couldn't recruit both candidates. NT Repairs & Painting was looking for a superstar admin person to join their team and Chloe immediately came to mind. Big thanks to Shir at Saltbush for making it all happen.

16.01.2022 Are you wanting to or currently tender for Northern Territory remote housing or remote commercial construction contracts? Well I have a rare opportunity that has opened for a contractor in this space that would like to engage my expertise in improving their submissions and win rate or perhaps you would just like to outsource to an expert. This would be on a retainer based service offering for a minimum 6-12 months that would also be on an exclusivity arrangement on the areas ...of the Northern Territory you wish to tender in. I have a solid track record with a great return on investment of my services with a past client in this space. Interested... get in touch via my website or [email protected]

08.01.2022 Hats off to TWO local contractors who were awarded contracts over the last 1.5 weeks. Let's take a look at what was won: A 3-year Power and Water panel contract to family owned and operated local hydraulics and civil contractor... + A $1.6M remote housing refurbishment contract to a local Indigenous business. Their first ever NTG remote housing contract!!! Both of these submissions were the first-ever submission I assisted these clients with. Proving time and again the value of engaging a specialist tender / bid writer and my high win rate for clients.

08.01.2022 Hello from 10 year old me! Looking back at this photo I would never have realised that this jumper foretold my future. You see I grew up in Melbourne and then Perth till I was 16. My Nanna who lived in country Victoria bought me this jumper because she liked the artwork which I think was by Ken Done. I was about 10 years old. ... None of us had ever been to the Top End except my mum who moved up here in 1984. I followed 10 years later and came up here for the longest 4 week holiday in history on the 22 September 1994!! I never flew back home!!! Im now 42 and have lived in the Northern Territory for 26 years. Besides a couple of short stints away I’m pretty sure I’m a local now!!

03.01.2022 WORTHY QUOTE "The key is not the will to win... everybody has that. It is the will to prepare to win that is important." - Bobby Knight. Bobby Knight is a successful former American basketball coach and his words resonate in business just as much as they do in sport.... Just like a competitive sport, winning business through the process of competitive tenders, bids, and proposals entail the preparation to win. Preparation should happen as soon as the opportunity presents itself and usually before the bid or tender is released. Message me if you would like more information on establishing good bid practices in your business. See more
