24.01.2022 We are always busy making masks and always have same ready to be sent out immediately - or we can make up the size you need in the fabric you choose.

23.01.2022 Being in Perth has had it's good points during the Covid quarantine period. It's one of the most isolated cities in the world and we've got either a big ocean or a big desert between us and most other places. And even on this, the second day of winter, it's a fairly moderate day. Unless Anne in Tasmania. She ordered a few masks as we're heading into flu season but today is a cold one over there with snow forecast. Not only has Anne dressed to match her sloth facemask but it's also keeping her that little bit warmer - an unexpected but very welcome bonus of face mask wearing. Thanks so much, Anne. We love your style (and we also love that sloth fabric too!)

23.01.2022 We need creatives that can follow a pattern and sew. Is that you? Right now I cant commit to a figure per mask, I am discussing this with WA Health and the Perth City Council to see how to reduce your input costs. You will get something, you have my word on that, the masks must be up to scratch, colourful and interesting where possible. ... There is some logistics to sort out, delivery, washing, etc but thats details you should not worry about, thats my problem! What I need is masks, masks and more masks. In sizes for kids, women and men (or just larger). Going to ask the council to see if we can get some signage in Pier St that Mask are required! Call, email or post on FB. 21.01.2022 We're all trying to do the best for everyone at the moment. From wearing masks to physically isolating and helping more vulnerable friends and family. But the front line medical responders are really putting themselves on the line for us at the moment to keep us all well. If you want to give them a little help by keeping them caffeinated and on the ball, you may like to donate to the Fuelling the Frontline campaign. ... And of course keeping ourselves out of the hospitals is also a great way of helping them out ;-) Stay well, stay away, stay masked.

19.01.2022 Bright and bold face masks to keep us all a little safer during this era of Covid-19. These aren't surgical grade medical masks but they are made to specs provided by hospitals in the USA (and at the moment we would rather be wearing anything then nothing). As well as containing your own emissions it also prevents you from touching your face. Use face masks in conjunction with a good and regular hand washing routine to keep yourself and your family a Covid free space.... - These masks are washable and therefore re-useable. - They have a pocket which you can insert a filter for added protection (either a surgical mask filter or use a wet wipe). - They come in a variety of sizes XS (toddler), X (child), M (adult), L (giant man sized adult) $10 each or 3 for $18. Plus delivery fee or postage If you'd like to place an order just sent a message to the page and we'll get the ball rolling

17.01.2022 Adele of All Things Vintage Car Boot Sale and Markets was one of the first to put her hand up for masks for her and her daughter and she's note incorporated them into some valuable home-schooling lessons. She's also some a quick pivot to turn her markets into an online experience until this can get back to normal (ish). If you need to add out subtract to your wardrobe, see the new Vintager page at https://vintageronlinemarket.arcadier.io/ And in the meantime, keep your physical distancing happening, particularly if you're feeling a little sniffly during these cooler months and wear a mask if you have to go out.

15.01.2022 Are you looking for a face mask that will suit you and your personality? Whether it's Dr Who, Captain America, dinosaurs, flowers, animal prints, or basic black, our makers have all sorts of fabrics for you to choose from. Here is just a sample of the fabrics that we have lurking near the sewing machines. Can't see anything that looks like you? Just send a message and ask if we have something to go along with your footy colours, upcoming birthday, sofa pattern etc and we'll see what we can find for you.

14.01.2022 Who dat? (Sarah)Jane! It seems like they are a few Whovians in the ether so here's a snap of the tardis mask and we're having a few more made up for you. We're all for supporting the community and the local creatives and crafters. Some are making the masks are some happen to have Tardis earrings that match perfectly :)... If you *need* to be a Timelord then you might like to order a mask and some earrings from Driftin' Designs Jewellery. She's also got dalek ones :) Earrings are $10 See the comments for details.

14.01.2022 Our mask makers are scattered all over the Perth metro area and are diving through their fabric stashed to find colorful cotton to sew with. Like this bright collection from our northern suburbs maker, Estelle, that just arrived yesterday! Send if a message if you'd like to add any of these to your mask rotation!

13.01.2022 Lets re-set. Everyone should be wearing masks! If you are near Huzzard Studios (10-14 Pier Street, Perth) next week come get funky personal emissions face masks, $10 for one or $15 for three. In sizes S, M and L. And because this will work best if everyone starts to wear face masks as part of their daily ritual, were making them bright and as fun as we can. These masks are also washable and have a pocket for you to insert your own wet wipe filter.... (And if you can't afford one then we will give you one -because were all in this together). We need to create a safer community and create some work and a little income for those people who have recently lost their jobs so let's start by protecting our own local area, our own village. At this time the masks will be available to buy from Huzzard Studios. We will be creating kits (template and instructions) to send out to people so we can all start creating and protecting our own villages. The pricing has been set so that it's affordable for most, covers material costs and gives a little income to those people who have recently lost theirs.. If you are interested in being part of this mask making Create-Safe project and have your own sewing machine; have a need for a bulk order; or just have some questions, please get in touch. The sooner we do this the easier it will be. Call me, Chris Benson - 0417 991 891

11.01.2022 So, here is what we are working on https://docs.google.com//2PACX-1vSZHxY4TmG4q6DBLF0WI5s/pub

10.01.2022 Wearing a mask is foreign to me, something that feels weird and annoying. That said, what feels worse is looking and hearing of all the hardship that is being generated by trying to save lives, save fathers and mothers, protect the most at risk. By taking responsibility for your own emissions, what you can give to others, massively reduces this risk. We will be moving as quickly as we can to provide as many people as possible with masks to help mitigate the risk of spreading ...this virus. This is not a profit driven exercise although we are trying to help creatives involved earn a little bit from each mask. The more assistance with materials, logistics and marketing we receive will allow these people to earn something, where at the moment there is nothing. If I personally dont have to apply for government benefits I will be happy, there are others who have less capacity who should be first in line. These masks are reusable, washable, colorful and a bit of fun. More to come

10.01.2022 Though we may be physically isolated on this day we would normally be together at ANZAC memorial ceremonies around the country or partaking of a traditional big breakfast, we are together in the collective consciousness and considering what lengths people go to for the greater good. Lest we forget.

10.01.2022 Todays mask is all about cats. Apparently. We are getting some bigger orders out the door and building stock for next week. Please remember that we are not wholesalers this is about our communities.

08.01.2022 We all can, if you can source one. Wearing a mask reduces the possibility of you effecting someone else. Wear a mask.

08.01.2022 Now that the weather is cooling and the shops are starting to open again, we are waiting for the first wave of sniffles to go and the real flu to hit. Just a reminder to have your flu shot if you haven't already. I really does save a lot of snuffley snorey nights. And if you do end up with it then keep drinking your liquids, resting when you can, and wearing a face mask when you go out. This is Elizabeth. She doesn't have a cold or a flu and she doesn't really want to catch one. We know how she feels. Rug up out there!

07.01.2022 Lets create-safe zones around the city. Location ZERO in the CBD, after our amazing health services locations will be Huzzard Studios. We are ramping into a village mentality and will be sourcing and distributing fashion and funky personal emission masks.... Really rough graphic, some artists are onto it! - if your good with info graphics send me something much better! THESE ARE PERSONAL EMISSION MASKS - people taking responsibility for what comes out of their mouths. More funky graphics needed, call me on 0417 991 891 if you can help me visualise the solution. VILLAGE by VILLAGE we thrive!

07.01.2022 Hi all, even though this weather is crappy we are starting to open our doors again. If you would like a cool looking mask to come back out and play get in touch! https://apple.news/AirW803NnSnGfEThYFA28Uw

06.01.2022 There is mounting evidence that cloth based masks increase the general safety of people by between 50-70%. Wearing a double layered cotton mask in conjunction with the highly restricted social and economic actions underway should therefore make a huge contribution to decreasing the time it takes to protect people from this disease. Here is some interesting information to help put this in context.... https://youtu.be/hVEVve-3QeM

05.01.2022 Corona chic. We're making these masks fashionable, functional and fun because right now we need to find some joy in life as well as safety. If you'd like to buy some and add them to your wardrobe then just send us a message. #coronachic

04.01.2022 Its almost witching hour! Slowly getting some stock so if your after some funky masks, I even made one (almost) myself. The whiteboard now has a new purpose, to display, to have ready for that quick trip, and to get ready to go into the wash! Just a couple of magnets does the job Just remember to wash them, use them for a trip then wash hands before touching your face! Rinse (well wash) and repeat. ... Sometime very soon the government will catch up, like South Korea, Singapore and Taiwan until then make up your own mind. Does me not sharing mine make you and yours safer? Be safe.

03.01.2022 It just makes common sense that wearing a mask can stop you spreading a bug as well as giving you some protection from catching one. As long as you follow some simple protocols: - use clean hands when handling the mask (it doesn't make sense to use it as a hand towel, right?... - hold your mask by the ear loops and put it on one ear at a time - and try to only hold the mask by the ear loops when handling it. - pinch the metal wire over the bridge of the nose to keep it more secure - not too hard, you just need to breathe! - you can add a filter between the 2 layers of fabric - the filter from a vacuum bag or a wet wipe or you can buy face mask filters from hardware shops. - don't wear a damp mask - this can transmit bacteria rather than block it - that's why we're making them 3 for $18! - wash masks after use. And cloth masks are now getting the thumbs of from the World Health Organisations as one part of the "let's not spread this around" solution.

03.01.2022 We're trying to turn the culture of mask wearing around. From: Why are you wearing a mask? Are you sick? To: Why aren't you wearing a mask? Do you want us all to get sick?... We're changing it by making masks that people want to wear because they're fun and make us all smile (and we need as much of that as we can get right now) and, more importantly, keep us all a little safer. Thanks for the great photo in your new mask, Makeup by Marta !!

02.01.2022 * Lug Lovers * Do you find wearing masks a little gruelling on your ears? You may have sensitive ears or your mask elastic may keep getting wrapped around your glasses. ... These crocheted little ear savers go around the back of your head so you can wrap the mask elastic around the buttons instead of your lugs. Simple but effective. They are $5 each. Send us a message if you'd like to add them to your mask ensemble.

01.01.2022 The best birthday present in the world is a face full of bananas!

01.01.2022 So another stylish look modeled by me!

01.01.2022 Just when we thought we might be out of the Covid-19 woods, another hoo-ha brews up with a ship at Fremantle Port and just goes to show that as careful as we and our government in WA try to be, until there is an actual vaccine then it could all re-ignite into another hot mess or quarantines. So social distancing (when you can) and face masks (when you can't social distance) are still a good move, particularly as we're heading into flu season. ... We do quite like making masks but it would be nice if we didn't have to, right? And if you have to wear a mask you may as well make it as fun and loud and bright as you can. If you'd like to order some in the run up to flu season. just send a message to the page and we'll get you covered ;-) $10 each or $18 for 3 (plus postage or delivery)
