25.01.2022 Tis the season... For bedroom make overs! Create something fresh and fun for summer. Between the sales, Gumtree and op shops you can do something fun and affordable. Need some help? Home furnishings is my specialty. I can help you coordinate colours, pick decor, linens and curtains( with the correct fittings) or do the full make over for you. Set your budget and I will scour Brisbane for the best quality second hand goods or new if you have the funds. I can also custom make bedding, cushions and curtains and more! 23.01.2022 2 become 1! (No not the Spice Girls song...haha) Turned two old favorites into a new singlet! The pink top was a hand me down that was actually made crooked so never really wore it much but love the print. The back was a cream singlet that I'd managed to stain the front of. I cut them both in half and shaped the t-shirt. Now a 2 tone singlet. Love this.

Hemming some curtains for the lovely Suzie. *hot tip for home sewers: If you don't have a cutting table with a groove or a large ruler to help you keep straight when cutting large pieces of cloth, if the fabric has straight grain or repeating pattern, aim your eye straight and follow the grain or pattern

15.01.2022 Don't you just love unpicking?! In the middle of an epic save! After she ripped a seem I am almost unpicking this whole skirt but it's a friend's favourite so working on bringing it back to new. Watch this space....... Have something that needs repairs? New zipper? Send me a message

15.01.2022 HAPPY HALLOWEEN CREATIVE KIDS If you are preparing your costumes for tonight and wondering if you can style acrylic wigs, the answer is yes! You just need to be gentle! 1st gently brush the knots out and with sharp scissors trim the frizzy and uneven tips, some hair will pull and stretch with brushing. You can curl using a curling iron just use a much lower temp so as not to melt the wig. Only turn it about 1/3 of the way up on heat setting max. Pin the top half and work... from bottom up. You can hold the curl 5 to 10 seconds on the lower heat. Pin the curls in place and allow to cool as you would your own hair. Remove hair pins and pull your fingers gently through the curls and style. Hairspray to finish. This one turned out pretty good *there are some great hair styling tutorials on YouTube If you need costume help next year hit me up early. Enjoy the spooky season

12.01.2022 Sometimes alterations involve unpicking half the garment... Fiddly and time consuming but if you love it? Got the skirt for $2.50 at op shop. Couldn't buy the fabric for that so a bit of time and love I will make it fit! Haha

10.01.2022 Some of you know I love op shopping. Its a great way to save money and recycle. Sometimes however it's a bit long or needs minor repairs but still so cheap you get it anyway. You can even upcycle and add bits on to funk something up. NEED HELP? CONTACT ME TODAY I found a cheap denim trench and pulled a removable fur collar from a scarf bin. I sewed 5 small buttons to the inner side of the jacket collar and presto! A funky new jacket!

09.01.2022 Hey Creative kids. So I saved another cool item from the op shop. All sad in the 50cent rack cause someone tried to make pants into shorts, maybe for a costume and did a crappy rush job. I saw how cute they were but need some love. I'm unpicking and re-hemming them. Then I will replace the zip with a white or black one (that actually matches haha) and most of this zip will be hidden again Looking forward to wearing these 1 of a kind shorts

09.01.2022 LINEN REVIEW: Target 500TC luxury cotton sheets are awful. Dont waste your money. Im usually sceptical about cheaper brands of sheets but these seemed soft and nice enough when inspected in store but they are rough and itchy after washing. Worst $60 i ever spent, wont even put them on my bed. Spend a bit extra everyone, quality linen is worth it!
